I'm not surprised that you and others who are choosing to keep your head in the sand would take issue with other posters who are being realistic. Quite immature but par for the course on this board the last few days.

Careful!!! I'm with you that you are being negative or trolling but that last line walks that line. We enjoy other posters on the board and enjoy other opinion but this is still the HEAT board! While crazy at times, we are still a family

GT3!

Supposedly he wants to come back and Heat told him at the start of FA they want to bring him back. Skolnick also said he expects Oden to return.

Wait. If we used the MLE & BAE doesn't it mean we're capped, meaning they expect LeBron, Wade, and Bosh back? I've been gone for an hour what have I missed?

He was never really a shooting guard and is too immobile to play that position now. If he's gonna play any position besides SF, it's actually PF (which he played a bit of last year for both LAC and IND)

Eh Granger seems like a James Jones replacement to me, and McRoberts a Battier replacement.

PG: Cole | Napier | ?
SG: Wade | Allen | ?
SF: Lebron | Granger | Ennis
PF: McRoberts | Beasley | Haslem
C: Bosh | Birdman | Oden

If the Big 3 are all coming back, I'd expect our last 2 announcements to be a younger shooting guard with range (Morrow?) and a veteran PG

edit: ^This^ is what re-tooling looks, btw. Added a solid starter who fits our stars, and a guy who solidifies our depth

This is the center rotation I was praying we wouldn't have.

How about this lineup?
Could this work salary-wise?

Thomas - Napier - Cole
Wade - Allen
James - Granger - Ennis
McRoberts - Haslem - Lewis
Gasol - Birdman - Hamilton

Just a reminder guys, don't engage with any post of trolling/baiting nature. Just mark them, and they'll be dealt with.

Thanks.

Assuming the Big 3 stay, though, he's competing with Ennis & Beasley for roster spots, basically. If we really are trying to get younger I think the McRoberts & Granger signings all but end Lewis's Heat career. Shame, I like Shard, but don't know who's spot he takes.

I liked Hawes as a player. But McBob is a tougher player.

What would've been great about Hawes is he would be more effective at C, basically allowing Bosh to go back to PF. That switch alone is what made me hope that we'd get him. Hawes would've added size, shooting and rebounding. We probably could have gotten him cheaper than the clips too.

The McRoberts signing to me will end up as the biggest signing of this free agency. He's basically a taller, stronger Battier that you can put next to Lebron and give him spacing whiles he won't get abused like Battier did on defense. If we're still committed to small ball( which I am undecided about how to feel) that is a huge piece to the puzzle

Damn I didn't go ahead and count roster spots

I agree Lewis can still play for 10-12 minutes a night

nah, either of Thomas or Gasol will need to come in via trade. Thomas is too expensive and I believe restricted so he's just probably out of the question, Gasol could happen if he agreed to a deal small enough to fit our trade exception, though that would be a serious discount and so seems unlikely
