Danny Granger agrees to 2-year, $4.2 million deal with Heat

Look at that contract. He should still be a Pacer. I got to say that this was one of my all-time favorite Pacers and this is a tough pill to swallow. Thoughts?

If LeBron doesn't re-sign there shouldn't be a lot to worry about since he is just getting paid

Danny said he joined because he felt that LeBron would come back, so I'm sure he feels burned. but has he actually officially signed the contract? If not, he's no obligated to stay and could just go to another team.

I wouldn't be surprised if both he and McBob mutually agreed with the Heat to back out of the verbal commitments. They wanted to be there to play with LeBron and the that's the only reason the Heat wanted them there. No reason for either side to want to go through with it. The dollar values for both are such that they can get comparable paydays elsewhere and Miami would probably rather spend their money elsewhere too.

McRoberts is likely happy to still have a 4yr/$23m full MLE to play with Wade and Bosh. Granger? He'll likely be happy with a 2 year deal, but if he backed out, and Lance walks, I'd love to bring him here for the minimum!

It probably wouldn't be for much more than the minimum I'd think. The 2.1/year he got offered from Miami is probably about what he'd get league-wide. I'm sure the locker room would welcome him back with open arms.

This excites me. One of my all-time favorite Pacers. Hopefully they can work something out. He could be paid the salary in the Miami deal and Indy could stay under the cap. It would suck to just push Lance out the door like that. But if Danny comes back; It makes it not so bad.
