Brandon Rush for the minimum would be my next target. Prove it deal for him coming off an injury. If he can return to form, he's better than Morrow.

We have done NOTHING to adress any of our needs. (Napier is not the answer)

Mcbob will just be in the opposite corner from bosh. That will be his game.

And granger brings nothing to the table. Locker room guy? Are team hates his, from Haslem-Lebron.

Perhaps McBob as a big stretching the floor will allow Bosh to play closer to the hoop and officially become the #2 guy on offense. With a Bron-McBob-Bosh frontcourt, McBob pretty much takes over the stretch role that Bosh was forced to play when Bosh and Haslem/Birdman were the bigs.

Yes we struggled with rebounding all season and with defense in the Finals, but we also struggled mightily on offense in the Finals. Looooonng stretches of offensive droughts and failing to crack 100 points in a single Finals game.

no why would we do that?

Cap room. LBJ doesn't want a long contract...

Doesn't work like that. We can sign LBJ to whatever contract without renouncing him.

It's not really small ball if McRoberts is starting at PF. Bosh is a little undersized at C but not so much that it's worth calling small ball. That really only makes sense when we started SFs at PF (Lewis/Battier) next to our slightly undersized C.

I've always viewed the term "small ball" as referring to the scheme/concept of playing a finesse game with the 4 and 5 away from the basket as floor spacers and 3 pt shooters. I think that is still what McRoberts gives you. Bosh has always been tall enough to be a C and LeBron has always been tall enough to be a PF (same with Battier/Lewis). I would still view the style we'd likely play with a Bosh/McRoberts/LeBron/Wade/Napier or cole lineup as a 'small ball" lineup. And I have no real problem with that, as "small ball" has been pretty effective for us.

I still see a spot on the roster for Lewis, especially after he started getting big minutes in the playoffs and played pretty well. He's made a lot fo money in his career and won't be getting big money from anyone else anyhow. I could see him taking a vet min deal from us in lieu of a mini-MLE from someone else.

I guess we're getting nuanced here, I always thought the term for what you described as more "pace & space", and small ball more about emphasizing quickness over size. The two seem to go hand-in-hand but McBob lets us play pace-and-space without going "small". It's all semantics though, I think conceptually we're on the same page

Pace and space may be a better term for it, but small ball seemed to be the term that caught on. As I said, I have no problem with it. That spacing and the 3 pt shooting is huge. It opens up everything -- not just the drive to the basket but also passing game. The Spurs had traditional bigs, but they made only like 10 post-up baskets over 5 games in the finals. They killed us with 3 pt shooting and spacing, which opened up the passing game for them. We can do the same (and did, to a large part in 12-13). But much of the concern about our bigs is overstated -- in 4 years we have never lost a series to a team playing a power, low post game.

The fantasies and fairy tales are the two signings that were announced today. Putting your faith in Danny Granger and McRoberts as reasons why LeBron is coming back?

Your delusional. Who do you think the spurs signed to help them get over the hump. Miami already has a good core.
What team do you think lebron will go to that will help him beat the the spurs? There are no guarantees in the NBA.
Except miami is proven if we go off the last couple of years.

I'll take Diaw, Patty Mills over McRoberts and Granger...

Good for you.

He makes the roster over Beasley.

What about Wesley Johnson? Hopefully the lack of talk/news about him means he'll be the next to sign. He would be my realistically ideal choice to solidify the wing rotation at this point.

But...we signed him after the All-Star break, right? He was never any use during that half.

McBob is our better UD

He can play center too I guess

Our center rotation last year was Birdman/oden/Hamilton not counting bosh at the end of the game scenarios

If big 3 resign that looks like the case again

That makes me think that Lebron had to sign off on this prior to signing him.

Yeah and I think posters on this board underrate how much the staff liked Oden last season. If he hadn't hurt his back he might've been our starting C through the playoffs. The minutes restriction, fitness, and timing issues were all real, but are things that could fade next season, leaving him as a legit 15-20mpg big.

If he comes back looking good it wouldn't be crazy to imagine him starting again

C: Oden (15) | Birdman (20) | Bosh (13)
PF: Bosh (20) | McRoberts (24) | Lebron (4)
