While Melo is deciding, and LeBron is watching, Gordon Hayward is visiting with the MJ and the Hornets today.

I would be pissed if Hornets get him for 48/4 or less.

Who cares - he is not the solution to our problems.

Listened to Bill Simmons on Lebatard an hour ago.

Barely talked Melo and it seemed his instinct was more gut than reporting. Here's the exact money quote of what he said:

"My gut would be Chicago. I just think it’s the best place for him. I think the Laker thing WAS a real thing. I had real info that they blew him away."

I emphasized the WAS myself. The way he was talking was as if the Lakers possibility had lost momentum. After that quote, he started talking about the mileage on Lebron and Melo and how their primes are almost over and then he said this, which again I think is half logic/gut and reporting:

“If you are Carmelo, do you want to spend the last two years of your prime playing with Kobe?”

Bill seemed to think OKC is in the lead for Gasol. He also said he hadn't written anything about free agency because there are so many conflicting things he is hearing and that agents are driving the process even more so than usual.

I was thinking closer to 83 wins.

but last year 48

McDermott 2
Gibson in starting lineup 3
Mirotic 2

Whether or not Melo comes to the Bulls, the burden is on Rose to perform and propel the team beyond what it has been for the last few years.

This guy lives to rip on Derrick.

Refreshing? No one is asking Derrick to go on ESPN and beg for Melo. Talk to him for 20 minutes, tell him he should come and play in Chicago. Go to dinner. How difficult is that even for someone who's not outgoing? Really? From all accounts, all the players around the league love Derrick, so he must have SOME rapport with guys.

Guess the Bulls FO was very disappointed that Derrick chose to not go to dinner w/ everyone. Then when his camp leaked that it was a surprise and he didn't know Melo was coming? Terrible.

Dude...what kind of adults care about these petty, perceived, slights. They were in Chicago on business. Do you really think a grown man needs someone to come say hello yo him before he starts thinking about his money...I mean come on.

Not the thread to argue about it, but it's a can't hurt, could help scenario.

Just a thought.. But what if what KC Johnson said IS right? What if Melo IS using LA as leverage in order to force Phil into a S&T.

Think about it.. Melo randomly says "Im going to see LA", who is run by Phil's GIRLFRIEND. Now he is "very interested" in the lakers who can pay him a Max deal, and leave Phil with NOTHING on the table while his GIRLFRIEND STEALS HIS SUPERATR.

Now Phil is left with this: Do I let my best player go to my girlfriend, or just sign and trade my superstar to Chicago so I at least get some assets in return?

If this is the strategy, it is BRILLIANT by Melo and his team. Just a thought.

I can't take this anymore...

...I'm taking a three-minute break.
Scottie Pippen's response to whom he would pick for his running mate, Michael or LeBron: "That's a dumbass question. I've never done anything with LeBron. I wouldn't take LeBron to the movies."

You started to hear Lebron was going to Miami July 7th a day before "the decision" July 8th.

If we need to amnesty Boozer, it might take even longer.

Who do you think is closer and trades more info. PJax and Jeanie Buss or Leon Rose and Thibs?
