Hayward would be a great get for the Hornets. But are the Jazz really going to allow him to walk? He's one of their best players.
Signing him and developing that roster would make the Hornets a perennial playoff team and a potential top 4 seed regularly in a season or two.

Friedell on Waddle and Silvy. Says if Bulls find out they're out on Melo, first call is to Gasol. Will bring Mirotic too. Which I don't understand. Pretty crowded frontcourt when you have Noah, Pau, Taj, Mirotic, Bairstow. Unless we're trading Taj, I don't get it at all.

The issue with Hayward is that I strongly doubt Utah lets him walk away as a RFA. I've always been under the impression they'll match anything.

Man the media was counting us out just because we went to Gasol. It turns out we were involving ourselves further in the Melo pursuit.

K.C. Johnson ‏@KCJHoop 1m
Have never fully believed Knicks won't S&T Melo talk. It's what teams do when faced w/ losing star. Raptors/Bosh, Cavs/LBJ, Utah/Booz in '10

We signed & traded with Utah for Boozer?

this is so true. I'm pretty sure the Cavs publicly refused to discuss S&T for Lebron immediately after the decision. Same with Bosh and Toronto. Both came to their senses eventually.

Of course, but hey Knicks fans refuse to trade within the conference, better to lose him for nothing to LA

Yup, got them a nice TPE.

They were returning the favor when they took on Erik Murphy last year.

If Melo stays and lebron hasn't made a decision, should we inquire? Or leave all this drama behind and not get caught with our pants down again.

Yeah, that makes no sense. You don't want to build a team so that only 3 of your 5 best players can be on the floor at the same time.
