I gotta give you credit KG, you have a unique ability to think yourself as the gauge of what's proper.

You're proceeding on the assumption that:

a) the trade for Felton is not indicative of a team patching a newfound hole at point guard in what seems like a rushed, determined and emergency effort to acquire a mediocre to poor player;

b) the New York Times (certainly not a peddler of rumor and innuendo) presented an unreliable report that the Knicks are "more likely than not" going to let Lin go, according to a source briefed on their plans.

I find the above to be disturbing and most would. You happen to be more skeptical than most about pubilc reports and that's fine. But you're projecting when you say I'm an arbiter of what's proper. Your stance is to rule out everything as proper until a final announcement. That's pretty extreme.

Also this is you essentially saying that media reports to that point were entirely unreliable and were simply swinging back and forth without delivering any useful information:

Not a reporter, Bulls fan, nothing doing here. But it wouldn't shock me if Melo wants out soon. The delay might mean something. Could be waiting on LeBron, or could be unsold on the Knicks, which would be Melo's bad more than ours.
