2014 Miami Heat Offseason Thread (Rumors/Reports) 5.0

Call me crazy, but I think the Big 3 are definitely ok with taking bigger pay cuts if it means bringing in another piece.

Those reports of them wanting those numbers don't make much sense and guys around the Heat have talked about how quiet they've been. Hell, we didn't know about McBob until like an hour before they signed him and Granger came out of absolutely no where.

What if LeBron is looking for about $17M starting, Bosh at $15M, and Wade at $12M? That's $44M between the 3. Taking into account the cap holds and the fact that the exceptions can't be used if we're under the cap ($7M for McBob/Granger), that can possibly leave Miami with another $7-9M; which is around the figure guys like Deng, Ariza, and Gasol are looking for.

I think most is already decided, all the panic is created by ESPN.

I think the value of the McBob & Granger signings says it all. They're expecting to be over the cap after resigning all FAs.

Don't forget we pushed for Granger last year after he was waived, and he chose LAC due to playing time. After seeing what Shard got in the PO he obviously chose to come here & he can give Bron more of a rest as well.

We wouldn't be committing money to scrubby players like Granger and McBob if Deng, Ariza, and Gasol were still in play. It's sad but true.

I would be surprised if the Heat were able to retain all 3, but truth be told I am not sure why the Heat would want to retain Wade. Wade was a Heat legend, the problem is that I used the word "was" because he currently is not special anymore.

I think Bosh will go to Houston and Lebron returns to Cleveland. Wade is probably the most likely player to return.

Also, LeBron best friend and right hand man Mavrick Carter wants LeBron back to the Heat next year, he believes this is a better position and situation for Lebron staying... Now while that may not do it for you, James’ long time childhood friend and marketing manager, Maverick Carter has always wanted what was best for James and what could make him the most money. After signing with Miami in 2010, at the time they thought it was the right decision for them and looking back on it, James won two titles in four years and had great success.
However, Carter and his marketing team had and have zero power in Miami and they don’t like that. The show is run by Pat Riley and Pat Riley only. And according to several sources Riley’s aggressive control for power and his way or the highway approach of everything has seriously destroyed any chance of James re-signing with the Heat

He had talent a couple of years ago, but not so much in the past two years. The injuries have derailed him and his inability to shoot doesn't really help.

I find it pretty stupid to waste about 10+ million dollars for a guy who is not even close to being worth it, just because of what he did 8 years ago. There is a reason why nobody is chasing after this guy.
