youi'd have to trade someone to a team who doesn't have to send equal dollars back. trading Hibbert or Hill would create the most room although you can get some room from Cope, Mahinmi, or Scola.

No one with the cap space to take on Hibbert or Hill will do so at this point. So many good free agents and you waste it on Hibbert/Hill? no way.

Moving both Cope and Scola opens up a little more than 7 million, which MIGHT be enough, but then we don't have money for Lavoy, and we'd be relying on Ian for all of the backup big man minutes.

But we still haven't picked up Donald Sloan's option, correct?

Well, it's not an option, but non-guaranteed. However, it's for the minimum, so waiving him saves us, literally no money. Not a $1.

I like that Miles is the type of guy that could go on a tear and go for 20-30 points for multiple games in a row. I would like to see them go get Jameer Nelson now and move Hill over to the two. Miles and Solo; along with Rudez would provide some scoring off the bench.

CJ is a great player and he's going to be missed in Cleveland. Here's a video to get you excited about him.

This means that my 10 million a year max for Stephenson really is the max (doing the sums in my head) and we will need to move Copeland for that and waive Scola... But, adding the Croatian lad and the young center makes me think that is exactly what will happen.

Bird seizing initiative in the market, interesting times.
Vogel is Dutch for Bird.

Like CJ's fit on the Pacers. Adds some defense, outside shooting, and a versatile defender at the 2-3. I thought he could be a potential target for Miami.

Does his signing really hinder the possibility of signing Lance?

Supposedly OKC wanted Miles as well but they weren't willing to commit to a 4 year contract, so he signed with us.

How many other All-star centers are FA? I dont think his value is nearly as low as a lot of people think.

I actually really like this signing, and not just because this guy kills us every time we play him. Miles is a solid pro and the guy clearly wants to prove he can be a winner, go get it kid.

Being an all-star center means almost nothing when you have the most shallow pool of center talent in NBA history. So much so that the NBA has removed the center as a position from the all-star game and replaced it with a 3rd forward position.

And even though he is an all-star, he certainly didn't play like it in the 2nd half of the season.

Tack those 2 things on to the fact that he's on a max deal and you've got the perfect recipe for the lowest possible value for Roy Hibbert.

I agree with your above statement about his value being at an all time low, I was disagreeing with the below statement about him having no value.

I also think the fact that the center talent pool is so low actually helps Hibbert's value, supply and demand.

I wouldn't put defense of any sort as one of the things Miles brings to a team.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."
