I can't believe that even the more respectable posters here continue to throw rio under the bus. He played like **** in the finals (a 5 game sample) and all of a sudden 3 mil per yr for him is bad? Ben phucking gordon got 4.5 mil for christ's sake. And some people here were asking for Isaiah Thomas

Hope you are kidding about a 5 game sample. Because it was clearly the entire playoffs. Maybe he had 3 acceptable games out of 20 playoff games this year, maybe.

IIRC we all complain about rio's boneheaded plays but agree that he has a place on this team. Then he played like absolute crap in the finals and complained about touches - this is when you guys started to call for his head, correct?

You can only use the MLE if you are operating as a "capped" team.

You cannot use cap space to sign outside players AND still have the MLE to use.

If reports are true, Riles is using the full MLE to sign McRoberts. This means we still have the entire $12m of cap space intact.

My suggestion is to offer Stepenson $9m and the remaining $3m to Blatche. That ought to persuade Bron to stay and 2 more championships for South Beach.

Say Wade wants 12. Lebron wants max, lets say 20. Bosh wants 5/90. Add in haslem with $3m and Cole/Napier total of $2-3m. That is approx $56m and cap is 63 or 61?

Dude, I have explained this to you before, you cannot use cap space AND the MLE. You can't. It's forbidden by the CBA. The MLE carries a caphold.

No, we could still have about 7 million in cap space if Lebron takes max and Wade/Bosh split 29 million

Not anymore.

Lebron's max + Shabazz, Cole, Birdman's rights, McBob, Granger, and 4 cap holds for an incomplete roster is already 33.6M. That leaves 29M for Wade/Bosh to split while leaving 0 dollars in cap space. For us to keep 7M of space after their contracts, they'd need to be splitting more like ~22M. Given the market for Bosh, even if he took a paycut and started at 15M, Wade would need to be making 7-8M in order for that to work.
