We need to put fear into Miami. This is why we need Melo.

What you have is so much funnier lol.

My suggestion is to offer Stepenson $9m and the remaining $3m to Blatche. That ought to persuade Bron to stay and 2 more championships for South Beach.

Dude, I have explained this to you before, you cannot use cap space AND the MLE. You can't. It's forbidden by the CBA. The MLE carries a caphold.

People just can't comprehend that our free agency "haul" includes Granger. Remember that quote about this off season topping 2010?

Yeah, Riley always aims big. I'm sure he had some thought of paycuts, cap space, and adding a fourth Heatle (Gortat, Lowry, Gasol, Ariza, Deng) or even 2, depending on how things played out. But it seems the way they played out was that those guys were all really expensive and we didn't clear that much (or any) space once the Big 3 contact demands came into focus.

On the other hand, we still need a 3 and D swingman, a backup center and a mentor for Shabazz Napier. What gives?

On the other hand, if you are Bron, will you be happy with an offseason haul of McRoberts, Granger, Nelson and 2 yet-to-be-named players?

PG - Nelson / Napier / Cole
SG - Wade / ? / Allen
SF - James / Ennis / Granger
PF - McRoberts / Lewis
C - Bosh / ? / Hamilton

Pretty sure we don't have another $6m left. Those reports were false.

It's not the reports. It's the maths. We have a grand total of $55m of cap space of which $43m was committed to the Big 3.

If reports are true, Riles is using the full MLE to sign McRoberts. This means we still have the entire $12m of cap space intact.

We can't use exceptions AND cap. It's either or. So in the case that the Big 3 combine for $43M, the Heat would be below the cap, taking away our exceptions and putting McBob/Granger's contracts on the cap. Meaning we would only have about $5M in cap left. And thats IF the Big 3 decide on that $43M combined range.

You called it..

im going to miss Bosh, i really will....... but it's more sentimental and because I love his personality, team mindset, willing to sacrifice. ultimate teammate, smart, goofy loveable guy.

BUT ON THE COURT...... everytime I see 6 pts 3 rebs 0 blocks in a playoff game... I think to myself, this dude is making max money and not helping us win. He plays like a 6'5 SG and not a 6'10 PF

part of the reason im confused to why the heat went for mcbob and granger, u couldve wait to see if big fish like gasol, deng, ariza, or thomas bit before going after the average role players.

I can't believe that even the more respectable posters here continue to throw rio under the bus. He played like **** in the finals (a 5 game sample) and all of a sudden 3 mil per yr for him is bad? Ben phucking gordon got 4.5 mil for christ's sake. And some people here were asking for Isaiah Thomas

Hope you are kidding about a 5 game sample. Because it was clearly the entire playoffs. Maybe he had 3 acceptable games out of 20 playoff games this year, maybe.
6.4 PPG 3.6 APG 2.3 RPG 1.5 TOV 26.8MPG of pure garbageness. I'm not even including the horrible lazy crybaby defense or overall **** attitude here.

Garbage!

IIRC we all complain about rio's boneheaded plays but agree that he has a place on this team. Then he played like absolute crap in the finals and complained about touches - this is when you guys started to call for his head, correct?

And in your opinion, who should replace rio? Please don't say Stuckey, Nelson, Hinrich, Blake.

I liked Rio up until maybe last year's playoffs. This year, I think I started to notice that he has **** attitude about game... like when things don't go his way he doesn't seem to confront it but just kind of shrugs off like he doesn't care. I have had a huge issue with that. And I feel like we need a change at our starting point guard position. I don't know.. maybe those guys still like Rio, and want him back, then so be it.

If it's up to me, I am fine with Cole/Napier combo. I've said that like 5 times in the past 500 pages of this nonsense off-season threads.

Did you see my playoff quotes? He said Miami would lose to Brooklyn because they fear the Pacers. In another quote I had he said I agree as a LeBron fan (in response to a post criticizing him). I died lol.

Melo is actually a better fit tbh. Melo is a better 3pt shooter and Duncan would be all the way to the 3pt line. He's also tougher than Bosh.

It's not a bad backup plan at all, but personally I'd prefer the OG Big 3 back.

Honestly, if I'm Riley or Bron I'm telling Wade that he needs to take a long-term deal for $6-8m per. I mean why not? Wade needs the Heat much more than the Heat would appear to need Wade at this point. He misses one out of every three games during the reg season and cannot be counted on to last a full playoff run; he's essentially a part-time player. In the real world, part-time employees don't get paid full-time salaries/benefits.

The thing that people miss is that Rio is a good for us WHEN Wade was still Wade. If Wade is going to be playing say 60 games a year from now on that puts more pressure on the PGs and Rio gets exposed. He is good for us if asked to stay in his lane like 12/13. Ask him to run the offense, get LeBron the ball in the post, run plays, he gets exposed badly. That's why going forward he is not the ideal PG for us.
