Danny Granger

Post#1 » by TurboTitan » Tue Jul 8, 2014 5:00 am

The heat signed him for a 2 year 4.2 mil contract. That is a huge steal in my opinion, i mean he's not the player he once was but that is a great deal for the heat and makes the meeks deal look awful. Am i missing something here with this deal? i don't watch much of granger :/

Granger is on his last legs and he signed with a contender, of course he wasn't going to get a big deal.

Granger is a shell of his former self. He's not worth investing in. Contrary to popular belief, Singler and Martin will be very solid for us at the 3 this year.

Look at the GP and MPG :/. He's a nice veteran presence but I wouldn't say he's anything more than an average role player now. He might actually be a bit less considering the injuries.

I think Granger is overpaid. He is barely Summer league talented and most likely would ride the bench in D league.

Do you recall 365 days ago when we brought in Billups and many posters here believed he would start and play big mins for us? That he was finally healthy and ready to resume where he left off in 06? Granger isnt as healthy as Billups was last yr. In fact Granger might not even play 30 games.

At this point Gigi is better.

Dude... Granger is dunzo.

Those knees are shot, he's not even an upgrade over Rashard Lewis.

You can't compare the Granger deal to Meeks. Meeks is just entering his prime and isn't a broke down player with nothing more than a jumpshot- which is all Granger is at best.

Also, Miami is getting the south beach/LeBron discount.

eh - not someone I would have wanted for this team anyway. We need hungry guys who are going to hustle and defend.

Granger played OK in the regular season. He can still shoot and his length will let him get that shot off until he's 60. When he got into the playoff grind though, he was totally exposed. He just wasn't able to physically compete at that level. Maybe another summer of rehab will help him, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Granger has to upgraded medically to be a shell of a shell of his former self. He's done. He wears a ton of really nice suits to the games as he sits on the bench collecting checks. That's not an area of need for us. We need guys who are going to play...that's why we declined the option of Billups.
