I honestly believe there are no rumors in regard to Lebron leaving, I mean take a look at ESPN's nba page there articles and links to that insider crap where you have to pay to read it - IMO this is just big scam to make money

Well the last 8 hours have been pretty intense on here. I go out with the family & come back to mopper8 schooling in CBA (way to represent the capologists mopper - I was almost yelling at my phone 45 minutes ago & my wife just had to put up with a 15 rant on how dumb some people are wrt the CBA), you all going nuts over a CB pic from last year & the wording/context of a Woj statement. Damn this is some crazy shyte!

I'm gonna throw out my stupid theory, since everyone's having a go at it:
The big-3 sign 1-year vet min contracts, giving Riley (The Godfather) enough space to sign Melo & Gasol, and then throw a max offer sheet at Bledsoe (also Rich Paul player). UD, Bird & Allen all sign for vet min, giving us the ultimate FU roster:
Bledsoe/Cole/Napier
Bron/Wade/Allen
Melo/Granger/Ennis
Bosh/McBob/UD
Gasol/Bird/Oden
The big-3 then get max make-up contracts next year & Micky happily pays the tax cos we rollin'

Back in reality, I'm for keeping Beas - always been a Beas homer & not afraid to say it. He's young, learning from the best & can give an offensive spark off the bench. If you can get a vet min guy who puts up a PER of 16.8 (best since rookie year) then you keep him!

It's not that it's photoshopped. It's just from a different month, way back last year. As you can see, Bosh is in Dubai in that pic. But on Instagram, we know Bosh is playing with elephants or something somewhere else. He's not in Dubai.

I've had a thought kicking around my head the last 24 hours or so that's kinda coalescing. A lot of us reacted to the McBob signing or the Granger signing or both with concern that this wasn't enough talent to entice Lebron back. And he did say at the end of the season that we need to get better at every position, and he's not wrong. (So far, with Napier, Ennis, Granger, and McRoberts we are arguably on our way to that goal, while getting younger and more athletic too). But between those comments and Riley potentially looking to "top 2010" or whatever, there was a lot of speculation that what was needed was some really splashy signings. And in order for that to happen, we'd need guys to opt out and take pay cuts and what not.

Here's the thing: I'm not convinced the above narrative is entirely correct. it's also been reported that Lebron was miffed about amnestying Mike Miller, and questioning Micky's commitment to winning over dollars. We can debate whether that is fair or not, but honestly that's neither here nor there, the question is whether or not those concerns are real. Because if they are, then maybe Miami lowballing Wade & Bosh is not the best strategy for wooing Lebron. Maybe when he thought we needed to get better, he wasn't talking big names, he was thinking depth, role players, etc.

At the very least, Riley has tangible evidence to show James when they meet in the next couple of days to discuss the future. He is letting him know the Heat will spend what is required, including top dollar on Bosh, to win another title after two in four years together.

In the big picture, the Granger and McRoberts agreements give Riley room to present James with a couple of different spending options, including the ability to give Bosh a big contract, too.

Riley said he didn't anticipate presenting a plan in which James, Wade and Bosh would take huge pay cuts should they opt out of contracts. He would be open to any ideas they had and suggested that it was the three players who hatched the plan in 2010 to take slightly less money than allowed on maximum deals to create salary space to add Mike Miller and Udonis Haslem.

Lebron is apparently seeking the max, talking about Wade getting a generous deal, is a very pro-player/pro-union figure in the league. Dude definitely wants to win titles but I'm not convinced there aren't other angles to this whole thing. I dunno, just a thought. These are his friends, and the players are basically in a fraternity that pits them against management in a very real way. It's possible that he also wants everybody to get paid, not just himself. Which would explain the opt out but take big deals approach--it gives Miami the full MLE but also allows the Heat to basically reward all the returning players with fair deals.
