Ryan Anderson. He is younger and he is even a better deadly three point shooter. He can not play center, and he is slightly worse defending in the paint than Frye but he is a decent rebounder and has a good basquetball IQ.
He has 2 years left in his contract, $8'5M and $8'5M.
With Asik now on their team, and Jason Smith capable of playing minutes at PF, I think he can be available via trade.
Luol Deng. I know that he has play SF a lot of years, but in our system he would be a fantastic PF. He can defend the post like the Morris brothers o even better and he has good size and strengh. He can play like an stretch 4 and he can go out and running on fast breaks. I would sign him around $42M/4 years.
He can always be a trade option later if he does not fit well, but I think he is a true professional that will play with a lot of heart and desire, and his skill set is very good.
Ryan Anderson yes. Luol Deng not really, but maybe Thibs had something to do with that, or maybe playing in Hornacek's system he could get his 3 pt % up.
Look at his 3 pt % over the last 2 years. Prior to that he was a little better, and 4-5 years ago he was really good, shooting 38.6% one year and 40% one year. If he could get back to those levels, that's better than Frye. But shooting 31-32% like that last two years scares me a bit.
http://www.basketball-reference.com/pla ... glu01.htmlThe question is, can he get back to those levels? With two slashing point guards, it might make more sense. And maybe the dip in the last two years has a lot to with Rose out and no good pg penetrating. Maybe that tells us a lot. If that's the case, maybe I should revise my thinking on Deng.
