People keep saying this, but Sixers could trade for both Lin and Amare if they want. The two trades are not mutually exclusive.

They have that much cap room? Damn

I believe so. I believe they have a little more than 30 million in space. Lin, I believe, only counts for 8 million against the cap. So depending on cap holds, they could potentially swallow both deals and not be over the cap. Even if they can't absorb both deals in a straight dump, they are certainly close enough to make it work by sending a contract back our way.

Fatty Felton is actually going to START for yet another team? I wonder how he does it...

Yeah, but that Lin to STAT PnR would decrease performance of the tank.

As long as they avoid Fields and Novak they should be fine...

Devin Harris or Monte is more likely.

The other possible reason for Melo to wait is the LeBron Tactic -- I want to see what this roster looks like first. Putting pressure on the Knicks more than Gasol.

Or it could be that Melo will follow Gasol but that would make little sense. Gasol seems like the next version of Rasheed Wallace, maybe a little more reliable at best. Or Melo is undecided.

His agent should probably show him what it would look like in Miami as far as money.

I don't get this whole pressure thing. Like Phil Jackson and Riley are going to try and NOT improve the roster unless you force them to. If that is a legitimate thought in any of these guy's heads, they should be checked into an asylum.

Phil has always beaten Riley. Don't forget that.

Seriously...gotta think Dallas is still looking around though. FElton should definitely be a bench combo at this point.

It could be pretty close, I just checked and they have $31 million commited. It's probably doable. The real problem is trading for both. Against the cap, it's approx $30 million but the owner willl need to pay Lin's real salary ($15 million) so I don't think it's realistic.

Even for Amare. I still doubt they would accept his contract (unless if they really like the player, a former all stard someone who can still ball if healthy, and he can put people fans in the seats, it could be something they're looking for). If attendance and marketable players is what they need then I could understand Lin and Amare. A PG and a PG. They may resurrect Linsanity !

I doubt it but it's possible. I don't know what's on the Sixers GM (and owner) mind.

Bosh is the first domino, Philly waiting on Lin trade if Bosh doesn't go then they turn to Amar'e trade.

If Amar'e trade then Knicks pull trigger on Barg trade sending another asset with.

Then Knicks full press for Melo, Brom and Gasol.

If Bosh picks Hou then Knicks have no taker for Amar'e and probably no Barg trade either so also then possibility of Melo leaving goes up a little.

Where? Dunno....

Another scenario is Bosh to Hou, no Amar'e trade, Knicks full press Melo and Gasol pull trigger on Barg trade(asset probably THjr) to keep Melo away from Heat, then Bron possible to Cavs t repair legacy since Heat is disarray.

Lebron is meeting Riley this afternoon in Vegas is the latest.
If that is true, I expect we will hear Lebron news by TONIGHT and then everything will fly into place.

I'm as anxious as anyone about this news, but I'm not anxious for a certain answer. I want him to stay a 100000000%. Even flawed superstars don't come around too often. But stay or go, the real value in his decision is at least we'll finally know the path we're taking moving fwd. I'm ok with that after years of basketball purgatory.

Retool or rebuild. I'm excited.
