(Disclaimer: presented in no particular order or with an overall strategy in mind, just a list of guys I like)

1. Jerryd Bayless- solid bench guard capable of scoring in double figures and a decent defender. Hometown guy, maybe comes cheap for the chance to play at home.

2. Kirk Hinrich- would be a solid veteran guard, a great fill in should any of our guards miss time due to injury. Decent 3pt shooter, doesn't turn the ball over, and is a solid defender.

3. Shawn Marion- not exactly what he once was, but would thrive in our system, is still a great defender and he would likely come cheap. He would also likely cement himself in the Suns record books becoming our all time leading rebounder and shot blocker.

4. Jordan Hill- tough rebounder, solid inside scorer. Would bring some of the down low banging this team needs.

5. Nick Young- dude just scores the rock. Similar to Gerad Green in a lot of ways in my opinion, would be really fun to watch in the Suns system.

7. Pau Gasol- For obvious reasons, great post passer, gives us a reliable inside scorer.

6. Al Farouq Aminu- still young at 23, very athletic, known for his perimeter D. Still has lots of room to grow and develop, strikes me as the type Hornacek could get a ton out of.

I think any one of those guys makes our roster better and none of them will tie up significant future cap with the exception of Gasol.

Jerrd Bayless is a 1yr vet min contract away from being out of the league. He doesnt play defense and is an undersized ballhog shooting guard with no court vision.

Nick Young is even more of a ballhog that craves the spotlight. He would be Shannon Brown 2.0 without the tolerable defense.

WTF has Aminu done but get deeper on worse benches??

Wow just wow. Really?

Bayless does lack court vision, but as a cheap scoring guard off the bench it's not like he's a high risk investment.

Nick Young is a MUCH better shooter and scorer than Shannon Brown. He's much more in the Gerald Green mold.

And Aminu averaged 7.2ppg and 6.2rpg last year, is a solid defender and is TWENTY THREE. Teach him a corner three and he's a younger, more athletic PJ Tucker. Sign me up for that.

MOST of us thought Gerald Green was garbage before he put on a Suns uniform. But after last season I have serious confidence in our coaching staff to take on some reclamation projects and get the most out of players other teams have cast off.

I hesitate to ask more, but can we clarify that you were in fact referring to Archie?

It could also be gerald green since he chucks up shots like a knucklehead. But if its a larger deal yea probably archie in a love trade, the front office would be stupid to trade him for a mediocre upgrade

I care more about Len showing significant strides in his coordination this year. He was already a massive dude so 10 lbs doesn't mean much and just hope he starts to look like he belongs out there. Hopefully we stand pat cause this roster is built to peak in 2-3 years.

Ryan McDonough himself said that he sees a little bit of Pierce in Warren, so who better to teach him than Pierce himself.

Nice to finally see someone else mention Pierce. He's a better fit than anyone and probably a good leader/mentor for Warren. Only wants $9-$10 million to and wants to play 1 or 2 more years. Perfect...not big money or long contract....better player than Deng and cheaper.

But...have you seen Pierce playing last year? He was playing PF, I mean real PF. He is slow, very slow at this point of his career. He is a good playerd, of course, but he can not play starting minutes on a good team anymore, he will be 37 before next season begins.
I like him for a 18-20 minutes coming of the bench, and no more than $6M per year.

Yes, he is not nearly the player he once was. The Nets actually thrived with KG at C and Pierce at PF playing small ball. That wouldn't quite work as well in the west, but it would be an option and could really open up the floor, with Green at the 3.

Of course I would play him mostly at the 3 though, and if he could only play 25 minutes, I wouldn't care. I'd offer him $9 million, or maybe try to get him a little less, but he said he wants $9 million.

The main reason I bring him up is because most of the guys we are talking about are going elsewhere. Now I guess we can go for Deng. I would be ok with that too, but I don't know if I want to give him like 4/48 or something. I would rather do Pierce at 1/9 and Tucker at 2/4 or something.

We may miss having a vet like Frye around, and Pierce does have a ring. I don't know if he'd come here though.

But if we do a big trade and lose Dragic or something and give Bledsoe the max, and don't add something big in a potential Dragic trade, I will feel like this summer is a huge failure.

Period.

There is no rush. We are in a perfect situation. We cannot mess up what we have. We are in a power-play position, no need to mess that up.

I have no problems watching these guys we have now, especially Len and Goodwin, because I think those two will be our future calling card. We have never ever won a title, what's wrong with playing 3-5 more years of high quality basketball, before we are a year in and year out contender? James and Durant ain't going anywhere anytime soon, but their time will run its course like everyone else.

Phoenix will be a destination like it was when Nash was here. Lets develop our talent. Lets build loyalty to our organization and city with players we draft. I am so excited about our future..... :D

I don't think anyone wants Nick Young here, especially Alex Len... and Goran Dragic... and our entire roster.

I most agree with this, and that I trust our GM and coach to find underutilized talent and get the best out of them like they did with Green and Plumlee.

Last summer no one would have wanted these guys and they made massive contributions. How many other guys out there can we do this with?

And how good will all of our draftees do working with Hornacek from day one? Summer league will be interesting. I'd love nothing more than to watch our homegrown talent to turn into stars....be much more satisfying than chasing stars begging them to come and giving big money to guys like Deng and Pau.

Here is my post Lebron plan:

Bledsoe/Ennis
Dragic/Goodwin
Green/Warren
Morris/Morris
Plumlee/Len

Hunt down Terrence Williams and sign him to add to our SG/SF depth.

I disagree. I think weight is a big issue with him. Whenever he faced stronger bigs, he would get tired quick. He needs the strength to be able to stay on the court and maintain position. It should also add confidence, which was also lacking from what I saw.

I, like everyone else, was excited for the LBJ possibility. But in hindsight, not enough stock was put into the comments NotTraxxe, Zach L, Bill Simmons, Adrian W, etc. made about Sarver. I'm not saying he made the difference between getting and not getting LBJ, but I certainly think there is some truth that his antics have caused harm to the reputation of the franchise.

I added a Tucker replacement that is a much better player and can be had for much cheaper.

Not to be a smart as$ but can you name me one roster that didn't change in a 3 year period? Shoot even the spurs roster changed.

We have no idea why LeBron made the decision.

One day, there will be a star born in Buckeye. And when he grows up, he'll want to be a Sun, his dream since he was a little boy. And when he hits free agency, and we finally have the chance, we'll all be pretty pissed when he signs with the Lakers.

So you're saying we can get a guy who's not even in the league anymore and just got waived by a team in Puerto Rico cheaper than the player who was the heart of this team last year? I would have never thought that.
