What's funny is that the fans and analytics said Vonleh, and they went their own way anyway....right after the last 3 consecutive lottery picks they took busted, including 2 shooting guards, one being a white shooting guard

For the upcoming season, Coach Clifford will assign an assistant to Vonleh and ask the young man to work on a specific skill. Do one thing and do it well. I hope you're right, Bassman. I'll be pleasantly surprised if he makes more than a modest contribution on the second unit. He's just so young.

I don't think he's as raw as he is inexperienced. Lots of good qualities - ball handling, solid jumper, good size, effort and hustle, willing to use his body, etc. I do, however, think Vonleh will struggle next season like Zeller did. He'll have to have time to adjust to the physicality and speed of the game. That's why I hope the coaching staff keeps it simple for him.

For them it is like us shooting free throws with the mini balls. It is just so awkward to hold. I was a bad FT shooter until I went to one hand to work on form. Then added the second one back in for stability.

I can palm a girls ball. I can palm a men's ball if standing still but if I try to move my arm it slips out. Shooting with mini basketballs is tough because you can't fit your hand on the side.

I hope the team brass isn't planning to shoe horn Vonleh into McRoberts high post role, and it would be a shame this early in his career to have him camp out beyond the 3 pt arc.

So, can somebody tell me how they see the team best using Noah Vonleh in the Al Jefferson Offense?

I think they should & will use Vonleh in a similar vein to how they used Zeller last season, where he'll get the occasional open jump shot and pass at the high post to make a hockey assist, but he won't be allowed the same ball handling & facilitating freedom that was relinquished to McRoberts. Vonleh is currently too much of a 'turnover machine' for me to trust in that manner so soon

He doesn't really fit the Al-fense until he knocks down perimeter shots. He's probably our best weak-side defending PF by default though. He's got nice handles but like MrKIA said he's turnover prone right now. He should be a decidedly P&R upgrade to McBob or Zeller though. He's just got to settle down and adjust to NBA speed before we can figure out what to do with him.
