not sayin the dude isn't going to get bigger, he just looks small compared to the massive dudes I think of at the PF spot, not his height so much as his frame is small. I'm sure he will his the gym and bulk up.

If Gordon is a 3 going forward, what happens to Harkless? Do we bury our 4 pick on the bench as the 3rd SF? That doesnt help his growth.
nothing happens to Harkless. We trade harris. If Gordon turns out to be our best SF you cant really bench Harris and expect him to want to stick around.

If people are concerned with Harris' shooting range (lol), I'm going to troll this board if they want Gordon to play SF.

I think a lot of people are going to get frustrated with Gordon this season. He's probably the rawest player Hennigan has drafted/acquired (sans Harkless, who's expectations were way less). Just have to keep in mind that he is 18 and is still figuring out his own game

I hope the coaching staff can designate some kind of role for him e.g. playmaking sf, off-ball sf, p&r pf, clean-up pf, etc.

i can understand this, and i can understand players wanting money. But i really wish players had to stay in college more and refine their game there (or D-League or something), and not get drafted by NBA teams and still need years to develop basic skills and fundamentals.

Al Jefferson, Al Horford and Pau Gasol are PF's. That leaves 8, Vuc is top 10, for now.

cmon, Horford and Jefferson havent been PF's for years. they are centers. at this stage in his career, Gasol is a Center too.

They may play C but that doesn't mean they do it as well as their natural position. All three guys would be moved to PF in a second if their teams could find a decent center. That said, I would take Vuc easily over Pau anyway and might take him over Pek and Hibbert if improves just slightly.

Marc Gasol - Yes
Andre Drummond - At this stage it's close.
Joakim Noah - Yes
Dwight Howard - Yes
Al Horford - Yes, but more a PF forced to be an undersized C.
Pau Gasol - At this stage it's questionable.
Jefferson - Yes
Duncan - Yes
Hibbert - Honestly, no, don't think so.
Cousins - Yes
Pekovic - Questionable

Another way to look at Vucevic is to play the trade value game. Which centers would you take in a straight up trade for the sake of your team long-term? That eliminates Duncan and Pau, maybe head cases like Dwight, Hibbert, Cousins, etc.

If you play a shooter at pf or c, you can play somebody at sf that can't shoot.

Dipo/Fournier/Gordon/Frye/Vuc

for example is a lineup with Gordon at sf that can shoot

this is why we got frye

Anyone see Tobias' instagram picture of him working out with KOQ, Moe AND Ben Gordon. What a terrible teammate Gordon is.

when someone has been playing center for 6 years, can we stop saying he is a PF? And Pekovic is questionable over Vucci? Can you explain why?

Only because the Hawks front office haven't been able to find a quality C to start and they also had Josh Smith who was most effective at PF for years. And Pekovic isn't as good a rebounder, and is a worse defender than Vuc.

He said 'true center', which leaves out Pau Gasol, Al Horford, Cousins, arguably Duncan and maybe even Jefferson. Also, I'd take Vucevic over Hibbert and Pekovic. I think the level of PFs in the league is so much better than centers, as a group, that the former end up playing out of position.

Wow Charlotte makes a max offer to Hayward. Everyone is getting paid this summer. Everyone. That's why I am done saying "well he is overpaid' or "they are overpaying". If thats what the market is saying then thats what the market says.

Vooch >>>>>> Pekovic. Not so sure on Pau anymore as he is past his prime while Vooch is so young and growing that I think he will surpass half those guys in the next year or two.

Gotta overpay to get restricted FAs or get players to join a losing team.
