how did we screw ourselves with analytics? are you reffering to miller? that was a pure financial decision.

I've tried to stay away from Espn and all the other junk out there but if lebron left his home town because he didn't have enough help why would he stay here if he doesn't have enough help. I've tried to filter this junk but it's gotten the best of me

Ok so what if LeBron has been thinking about it...then he asked around just to see how hard it would be to get help up there...not recruiting but saying, look Miami is probably it but the wife and the hang want me to go back north.
Would you consider coming up there?

He most likely got a bunch of Nos and now he's telling the gang and the wife that if he goes back it will be same ole same ole...

He also knows that they can get people down here with him returning.
Just checking what his real options are.

I still think all indications (not based on conjecture or sources or reports, just what has happened in terms of signings and player movement) that the Heat have to believe they're still in the driver's seat. I also think, based on the alleged attendees of the Vegas meeting (it just sounds so absurd writing this and really, this is more circus than offseason) that it will likely involve some hard numbers being exchanged and some manner of understanding being reached. Whether that leads to a resolution, who knows, but the Heat don't move quickly on adding complementary pieces that only fit with a contending club without some manner of assurance that it's worth doing.

Phrased differently, the Heat are operating proactively, the Cavs reactively.

I don't know LeBron or LeBron's people so I'd be reluctant to guess but the lack of anything concrete from, shall we say, credible "non-desparate" franchises in terms of not even throwing LeBron a max contract offer, speaks volumes to me (I mean, didn't the Lakers tell everyone who would listen that he was their target all along). Meanwhile, the Cavs are making moves that, at least superficially (not my opinion, I think they're good business moves) point to one goal and one goal only, and you have an explanation for all the noise.

Noisy desperation v. quiet confidence. It will be interesting to see what happens.
