You have never been one to shy from self-flattery. This seemed like the perfect time for you to talk about how Cho falls in love with inferior players. If you intend to gain a more realistic perspective of how Cho is operating, I would view that as a major positive development. He turned down 5 years, $44 million. Maybe offer him 4 years $45 million and let him talk you up to $48? I would take Lance at $48 over Haywood at $63 I think.

I wouldn't because he can take down the team by himself. If he pans out his ceiling is higher but if he gets pissed he could derail all the work we have done.

I disagree with your assessment of Lance. He could never take down the Hornets cause we have head strong guys in the locker room. Al, Kemba, Hendo, MKG, these guys arent soft like Hibbert, Paul George and George Hill. And our leadership from top down trumps Indiana's. Having the east coast guys who relate to Lance would also help diffuse escalated situations.

That would be the hope but if it is wrong it would be a complete disaster. There was zero chance Hayward would be anything but a good teammate and helpful player. Lance could be helpful or destructive. Maybe he doesn't sink the team but maybe he tries and gets buried deep on the bench for it. Then we have a large portion of our cap as a cancerous untradable player which hurts the team too. His risk really needs to drive down his value.

I don't consider Hayward 'Cho bait' even though he does kind of fall into the category. I think I extend that label only to collegiate players entering the NBA. As lackluster to middling as Hayward has been throughout his 4-year NBA career, I'm wildly surprised by the monetary value he could consume on the open market. I knew Utah would be willing to overpay for Hayward for cultural reasons as a fan favorite, but I didn't expect anyone outside of the Jazz but Phoenix due to Jeff Hornacek to do the same

The Jazz made a point to reiterate that they will match the offer a couple hours ago through the media.

That signals to me that we still haven't contacted them about a S&T.

Jazz fan here: I don't know if this is good new or bad news for you guys. But I'm quite sure the Jazz are going to match your offer even though it would be over paying him.

I must admit I don't know if it's good or bad news for Utah if they match. they gave Favors a big deal and then (reportedly) threw him into offers for a top 2 pick. now they've got to make a determination on Hayward at an awkward time in their rebuilding cycle. do you think Snyder as coach could unlock more development from him?

My personal opinion is that Hayward will do about the same as far as stats go with Snyder. But I think Jazz will match, he may not be worth a max, but he probably is to the Jazz because we likely won't get another free agent of his talent anytime soon. Just because not a lot of players want to come to Utah.

Could be they were bluffing and trying to cripple the Suns, because someone just leaked at the beginning of FA that the Suns were going to give Hayward a huge offer (who would leak that in the Suns camp anyway?)
