You mean 1 million better, we just offered an additional year.

Hayward will be making 0.75M more per year than Parsons will. I would say with confidence Hayward is the better player and on the better deal.

Pooped that bed. Just looking for a different way to complain about what everybody else has said is a vast overpay.

We got less than 5 hours to S&T, looking very unlikely

I don't think I'm looking forward to welcoming Gordahn to the framily.

Well Parsons is off the board, gotta think Lance/his agent will wait on us if Utah matches. A sign and trade would be far more interesting for me because I want both Lance + Hayward. If Lebron goes to the Cavs and Lance leaves the Pacers, we can compete for the 1 seed. It's time to really get aggressive here.

We aren't trading MKG. My magical avatar ensures it.

I think we might have to but if we can get Hayward in a sign and trade that excludes MKG by some miracle of your circle of love avatar then still we will rock with Lance + Hayward. I would be least excited about the Jazz matching followed by the Jazz not matching and us not having space for Lance in addition to Hayward.

But to be clear my first choice is to send out salary for Hayward to make room for Lance as well. I don't care if we lose MKG or Zeller but if we keep them or just one of them, I still get what I want!!!!

I'm motivated by adding Lance + Hayward, not by dumping MKG.

Plus he's a couple years younger. With his skillset he will improve even more in a better system surrounded by talented players.

Why would we have to trade MKG? (for the 500th time)

The logic is to get Utah on board with a S&T instead of matching.

Right I think Utah has made it pretty clear that they control Hayward and they will not go quietly. To me, that suggests they want a significant asset. MKG seems a better fit there than Zeller but I don't know. They could demand both which of course will lead to no deal then Utah will match and we're empty handed. At that point we'd have to get Lance and do something creative with Henderson.

we need to add to the core, not trade core pieces for other core pieces

If there is sign and trade talks (and there very well might not be) and I find out we passed on a chance for Hayward + Lance because of MKG, I will be pissed.

But it just could be as some suggest, Jordan gambling that Utah will not match. And this is all a high stakes poker match that the Jazz are about to lose.

If we get Hayward, I still hope we can clear out Henderson + Neal for more cap space for Lance somehow. Do something with Philly so they reach their floor. Henderson + Neal + 1st even.

I hope they dont match. Its absolutely an overpay, but if you expect to get a free agent, much less a restricted free agent without paying a premium then your insane.

So we could have done a normal overpay and paid 13-14 million a year. Instead we add 1.75-2.75 million and put the pressure on the Jazz to match.

The other reality is that Hayward fits the system. Clifford loves guys with length and who can pass. Haywood is a perfect fit and with the inside/outside game with Al can be very successful.

We can compete to be a top 4 eastern conference seed for the next few years if we can sign Haywood. We also have a young core of talent that could help extend our ability to draw new talent and build a contender through both the draft and through player development.

Also, with the new contract structures, year 5-8 is basically a mini max. Its 4 years. So what if we pay a guy 15 extra million over 4 years. Isnt that better then not getting a player who can have a significant impact on our lineup immediately.

How much fun would it be to have a RealGM Charlotte board pickup game. We need to make it happen some time.

We can have all three. WHY are you so opposed to having MKG on this team?

I would rather have traded henderson or someone like that to detroit for josh smith..that way we would have only absorbed 7 million extra per, and for 3 years instead of 4... and still have $10 mil to play with..

This could turn around and bite us in the butt next offseason if another team that has cap space offers kemba 14-15 million per
