Actually you are wrong you can offer as many 5 year contracts as you want to your own players. The rule is you can only offer 1 5year contract at the MAX. Another team can't offer Monroe a max contract so not relevant anyways.

I hope we're willing to go higher than that though. Dont want to lose gim because mgmt wont go higher than 12.. 12 would be a steal. Youve got to be willing to go to atleast 14 though to keep your own players. It's encouraging that the market for monroe seems to be dwindling though.

We'll see. There are lots of teams still holding cap space and just waiting for Lebron to make his move. Even if they aren't interested in Monroe for themselves, they could certainly take on salary from another team who is - like the Cavs recent deal.
