I'm not a Plumlee fan at all, but look at what he is saying about some of the line ups Hornacek is looking at.

Our rookies, especially Alex Len, seem to be more flexible position wise than most poster think.

The Suns' head coach of the summer league team, Mike Longabardi, hinted that the Suns could use both Plumlee and Len on the floor together in their version of the twin towers. When Miles was asked how the two of them have meshed together thus far, he responded, "It's gone well. We're really working on our big-to-big passing, and Alex has a great mid-range jump shot. It's not the same as having Channing (Frye) space the floor, but I think we've got something really good going right now."

I'm stoked for the summer league. Does anyone know if all games will be televised?

I'm stoked too. I don't get nbatv, so I hope there is a way I can watch them without having to go to firstrow. For some reason that site makes my internet stop working and I have to restore my system to an earlier date the last few times I've used it.

I'd pay a subscription to nbatv or something to watch it online with a great feed.

I understand your sentiment and what you think you were trying to say but this statement is completely asinine. Standing pat is sometimes a good thing. Sure. To say that it's NEVER a bad thing is ridiculous. I think if the Heat had stood pat and not signed Lebron and Bosh, that probably would have been a bad thing for them don't you?

Well it's pretty fluid. It really depends on where the big names sign. Lakers and Philly have a ton. Orlando has quite a bit. Utah a ton. Miami may have a ton if LeBron/Bosh leave. Detroit, Atlanta and Milwaukee have a pretty good amount.

I think only a handful of those would offer Bledsoe a big deal, and even some of them may have pretty good reasons not to. Milwaukee is a threat, but not at the max level...more like 13 a year. Detroit, particularly if they move Smith or before they sign or match Monroe. Then LA (but they may want to keep cap space for the next couple summers) and Miami if they lose those guys. I'd say those 4 and maybe Orlando are the teams that would possibly think about offering Bledsoe a deal.

And I guess Houston if they don't get Bosh. Not sure about that though...Harden primary ball handler.

Question: would it be possible for the Suns to extend Dragic this offseason?

Not saying it's necessarily the best move, but we have cash on hand, it doesn't look like we're trading him, and we might be able to get a better price now while still negotiating with Bledsoe rather than giving Bledsoe a max and giving Goran's agent ammo to force us to up our offer.

I think it may be possible, but it's not smart for him because their is a max raise in that scenario. If he opts out, he can get MUCH more money. He falls into the 7-9 year bracket at that point for what the max can be. There is a good chart on realgm that I posted the link to earlier.

Here it is....look at the Max Salary column and the 7-9 year column within that. http://basketball.realgm.com/nba/info/salary_cap

They don't even have THIS year's numbers in there yet, but even last year, he could have started out at like $16 million after 7 years. It's gonna be more than that this year and even more next year, so he will be able to get a sizable chunk of change if someone wants to pay him.

I was just looking at the free agent list for this year. It is just filled with crap and more crap. Other than some decent players about to be overpaid like deng or lance, it's just a bunch of ok role players like Ed Davis and company. Honestly, a trade might be our only hope for anything of substance this year.

Yeah, standing pat isn't a bad thing when you tried to sign the best player in the world and it didn't work out. Calm down man. It's not like we didn't try. If standing pat is your last resort it's never the end of the world.

It depends where you're standing. Standing pat as the Spurs makes a lot of sense. Standing pat as anyone else becomes questionable. Standing pat as a team outside the playoffs is probably not advisable.

Me too. Even if we do have to pay both Dragic and Bledsoe $16 million a year each, I hope we keep them both, unless we can just do some sort of no brainer blockbuster trade. No reason to feel you need to get rid of one of your two best players until some REAL GOOD reason makes you feel like it's the best road to go down. As we have seen, it's not easy to get a superstar.

I was thinking, it might be good to have a thread that has links to all of the good reference sites, like those salary scales, the CBA faqs, etc. I know some of us here check that info all the time, but there are so many questions about things that get asked again and again it might be good to have more posters educated on these things, or have a quick thread link to look it up.

Kerrsed, if reading, what do you think of that?

What moves are available that make this team a clear contender right away?

I like how everyone that doesn't want us to stand pat, but you don't just make moves to make moves. Overpay role players when you're a contender. Not now.

@ spandexninja ... Your whining is duly noted... But I think you overstate and over rate the improvements of almost every team you mentioned and ignore what the differences will be with us.

We'll add at least a PF because we need to, but no need to cry about SFs and SGs signing elsewhere , especially at those prices. I guess I have a little more faith in the FO and roster than you

But this is a forum so go ahead and vent. Just watch where you step... Someone dropped a duece around here
