2014 Miami Heat Offseason Thread 9.0 - Multiple Sauces

Continue posting, but please don't let the multple sauces bring you down, we know nothing until the fat men sing (Bosh/LeBron) sing. On a side note, I would be most devastated about losing Bosh between the two, he seems super cool.

2 questions LeBron must ask himself.

Can those guys in Cleveland GET STOPS when they need to? He knows he can get that in Miami. The only team we're exposed against is the Spurs. Other than that.....we can keep teams scoreless for a long period of time. Can Kyrie defend? Waiters? etc...even if you get Kevin Love...can he stop someone?

Can those guys in Cleveland make WINNING PLAYS in the PLAYOFFS. Say what you will about Bosh, but he's clutch as hell. Wade has taken over a lot of 4th Qrts in the Big 3 era. There are times when the defense is geared towards stopping LeBron....can Kyrie close in playoff moments? Can Kevin Love make clutch shots in the playoffs?

I'm not saying those guys in Cleveland cant do it eventually. Its just that they're not ready to do it imo. Miami is the quickest way to the finals next year.

The choice should be clear for LeBron.

The reason why Bron is unsure is because the situation is unclear. Riles is supposed to get a star quality support cast in return for a one-third reduction in salary for the Big 3. For some reason, Riles decide to retool the team with exceptions rather than cap room which he should have.

Now that we come to a two horse race between us and the Cavs, let's look at the pieces and then the scenarios:

Bosh < Love
Wade < Wiggins
Rio / Napier < Irving
McRoberts > Anthony Bennett / Tristan Thompson
Arison > Gilbert

The question is no one knows if the Cavs can get Kevin Love without giving up Wiggins. If they can, they win the LeBron sweepstakes. If they do not but Riles managed to add 1-2 useful rotation players with S&T and TPE, we win. If nothing happens in the next 48 hours, we also win.

Judging from the scenarios, our odds are good.

True. We do not need another star. But McBob and Granger is hardly a bench. We need another 1-2 decent role players.

It might sound preposterous to us, homies. But ask anyone in the GB and the answer will go the other way. Regrettably, Wade is on maintenance program. He does not have legs no more.

There is no evidence that any of the "Big 3" were prepared to take a 1/3 pay cut, let alone all 3. In fact all the talk is that Lebron is demanding a max contract, so there was never going to be room for a star player.

And it's hard to convince quality players to come play for less money when you have an empty roster.

I honestly think Riley and Arison has told Lebron they're willing to go into repeater tax to keep him, Bosh and Wade (and bring in another all star); and that's the only reason why it wasn't a farewell meeting yesterday. Arison is worth billions, and the Heat isn't his most profitable business, it's a hobby to him. I'm sure he's thought about it.

So many people (close friends, associates, partners) are tugging at this dude to "Come Home", and win a title for Cleveland. Everyone telling him how big of a story it will be, and that it's the ultimate "legacy booster" . It's a difficult decision for him and his family. Much more difficult than the Heat as an organization anticipated. That's for certain. If it was strictly about basketball and winning, it wouldn't be this difficult because he knows what the Heat are about.

Hey all, Cav's fan here....I know.....I know.....

Not all of us our here to troll. This is clearly agonizing for all of us so I just wanted to take the time to say that I love your city, I have a houseboat there for winter excusions, and I love your women :-)

Best of luck guys, you've had a real great run and ...you lucky dogs you.....you may be just in the middle of it! Whatever happens nobody can take those rings from you, remember that. And Riley is one of the greatest minds of all time so I certainly am not betting against him.....I know better than that.

By the way Wiggins > Wade? Really? Sorry some of our fans dont' really get it. Wade is one of the best SG's every to play the game! Flopping or not :wink:
