Re: The One And Only Offseason Thread!
If Lin gets traded today that has to mean Lebron to Cleveland.
Because that would be the biggest fail
To trade asik,Lin make parsons a RFA to lose them
For nothing.
Talk about a melt down.
If Lin isn't traded today expect lebron to stay in Miami cuz Houston only has 3 day window with parsons/bosh

Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

BTW, any word about Ish Smith? His contract will be guaranteed in the next days, I was thinking he would be out with Ennis on the team.
$992,435
2014 non-guaranteed, fully guaranteed if not waived on or before 07/15/2014

Even after the injury so Bledsoe is probably a longterm sun.
Nothing about him has came out because he has the same agent as lebron
And lebron has been dead silent as well probably how that agent works
That doesnt mean hes a long term sun. It means hes an asset.
Once you give him a max he will basically be impossible to trade till at least his expiring year.
That's not a negative thing that's just how it works when your restricted
Not true. Under the new CBA every team HAS to spend $57 million an change. Thats why these salaries are so high. There will be alot of max level salaries floating around. MANY players of Bledsoe's level will have max deals and be interchangeable.

Getting Monroe means Kieff is 100% gone as we're not paying the max to two decent big men.
9 RPG last year next to Drummond and Smith
Do you think that had anything to do with Drummond being there or is he really a good rebounder?
Also, what are his weaknesses?
Do you think if we got him, we'd dump Plumlee or Len

Terrence Jones. Great defender and he is a good shooter, not great but he can improve. He is really young and Houston can need to make room for Bosch and Parsons, so he and Montjunas can be available in the next few days.
You should ask LMA what he thinks about Jones' defense.
He lacks expirience and LMA is one of the best players right now in the league. Dirk played a tremendous WCF some years ago against Ibaka, and I think Ibaka is an amazing defender.
T. Jones is very long, plays hard and is very good defending the perimeter. He is agile enough to recover and protect the paint too and he has room to improve even more.
He is not a player that I love, but is a decent option with upside.
I like Jones too but he isn't a great defender. He's too short to guard most power forwards in the West.

As long as we have the roster spot, I say keep him and use him as trade bait during the season for a team in need of an insurance guard. Maybe we can get a future late second rounder for him.

I like Monroe at some price. I trust Ryan to keep it real [prayer emoticon]
If bosh goes to HOU, it would be great if the suns got Asik for a year. He's a much better defensive player than plumlee, and so the suns would have a legit starting C while giving Len another season to learn and grow

The salaries are high because of the new tv deal that is coming...

Rush is about as good a defender as Tucker so we won't lose much there.
Lol rush is not even close to tucker if his price tag does become super high.
I would consider bringing back Shawn Marion with parsons going to Dallas
Well, Rush's price tag isn't going to be too high. Gaspar is more of a medical expert than I am when it comes to Rush and Bledsoe and stuff, so maybe he is too injury prone. As for "being useless" in GS last year, I don't know if that's the case as much as GS wanting to play and develop their younger guys Hayward and Burks.
I just originally mentioned Rush as maybe an under the radar guy that you could probably get for dirt cheap, he can play D, hit the 3, and maybe Hornacek could work with him.
Glad Gaspar posted his comparison to Mook, because he is clearly a better shooter from 2 and 3. http://www.basketball-reference.com/pla ... 03&y2=2014
There's a big difference between an ACL tear and a meniscus tear. Rush 2 years later couldn't get playing time on a tanking team, Bledsoe after 3 months played at the same level as before injury.
Rush isn't clearly a better shooter than Marcus, especially post-injury. That one season was an outlier. Rush's career % are significantly lower.

New max salaries updated here for this season http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q16
Hmmm ... all in two days? Wonder if they are going to rescind the Bosh offer or let Parson walk. Maybe Bosh is still in the picture.

I don't think there will be a big market for Ish. We can waive him and re-sign later in the offseason.

Re: The One And Only Offseason Thread!
Yesterday gambo on radio said he recently talked to tucker and he said tucker wants to remain and sun but he has 15 teams that have contacted him.
I find gambo reliable and to back his statement up last week spears/woj reported teams wanted to throw a offer at pj but are afraid suns will match.

One ACL tear is worse than one meniscus tear yes, but every time there is a meniscus tear they have to cut out the torn part, so the more it happens, the less you have left. Many people have full recovered fully after ACL tears. Al Jefferson and David West, among others had them in the past. I agree though that one meniscus tear isn't bad. Two may not be bad, but if it continues it could begin to get bad, depending on how big the tears are and how much has been cut out and how much cartilage remains.
But we are talking apples and oranges for these contracts. Rush I was just thinking of a possible option instead of vastly overpaying guys like Deng or others, we could sign guys for a couple mill that are pretty much a no lose situation and could pay off if the coaches can do something with them.
I don't know if I'd call that one season an outlier....he was just put in the right situation and team. Instead of playing in Indy's grind it out style, he came off the bench in GS, hit 3s and played D. He slowly improved every year until he got injured. He had some trouble coming back last year, but it was also on a crap team and I think Hornacek would utilize him better than Corbin would.

For the lazy, max for Bledsoe, Monroe etc is:
$14,746,000 - $15,409,570 - $16,073,140 - $16,736,710
Total: $62,965,420

Re: The One And Only Offseason Thread!
As I've mentioned Tucker is not likely. The market is too rich for him at this point. I know a team that contacted his agent two days ago and was way under the value he's been getting offers for; so they proceeded with another option. If the Suns keep Tucker we're paying more than he is worth.
Also, trade talks with the Pacers has not progressed. I doubt it happens. We'll see. The Pacers are exploring other options.
We have been more active trying to make trades.
Dragic is our most sought after piece. Tucker second. Bledsoe third (because teams with space can and will offer him a fat contract).
On the bright side Bledsoe is happy to wait and hold off for the Suns organization. I think highly we keep Bledsoe.

You have all year to hit the floor with trades. If you don't hit it, there really isn't a penalty...you still have to pay it, but you pay it pro rata to the players on your roster so they basically just get a little bonus. Doesn't hurt to have extra cap space during the season if teams are looking to trade and you can take back more salary (like a big Love deal with sending out less money).
