I may not always like PJ, but I'm glad he's back... Isiah Thomas on the other hand is going to be a lot of money to be the "6th man" and would really make resigning Bledsoe and drafting Ennis look really out of whack... I'm really not getting this one

Only reason I say cap filler because heard on espn that the magic signed frye as more of a cap filler. That's why his salary was a bit high. That's what made me think of the same situation with Thomas.

I guess it depends on your goal. We are not ready to win the championship, but are ready to grow. So signing anyone on the wrong side of 30 is a bad idea unless it is just a one or two year contract for someone to help the young guys learn.

I think your expectations for this team are WAY too high right now and you are likely to be disappointed in any scenario. If you wanted Deng and Pau and we sunk $25 million a year into these guys for like 3-4 years, you would probably be happy right now but pissed off the next four years when we were still struggling for the 8 seed as these guys broke down and our young guys were not playing enough.

So your question is a very tough one to answer.

Dragic - 7.5m

I was thinking cap space AFTER we re-sign Dragic on a much larger deal, Bledsoe's max, and Thomas making much more than 5m. Sorry for the confusion.

I hear ya. Just wanted to see who you would like to fill in the roster with. A lot hinges on what they do with Bledsoe. Can't help to think the longer this drags out with him the more likely he is going to be a sign and trade. I mean if the suns were really hardcore committed to Bledsoe, a deal would be in place.

I think that's cause the Magic payroll was much less than the league minimum before we they had Frye, thus the large deal to get them over the hump. I don't think the Suns would have that problem cause Bledsoe's due for a huge pay.

We shall blame McD's and Horny's boners for small ball, that's Thomas' ticket to becoming a Sun. :roll:

I really do not buy the Isaiah Thomas to back up Eric Bledsoe and Goran Dragic line. I think it is bogus. I am assuming Bledsoe will be signed and traded and possibly for Kevin Love. I can envision a Bledsoe and Morris Brothers trade for him. The Suns already have potentially up to four point guards in Dragic, Bledsoe, Ennis, and Smith, plus two shooting guards in Green and Goodwin. When would Thomas ever even play? If the Suns sign Thomas and trade for Love, this could be the new lineup:

Dragic/Thomas/Ennis
Green/Goodwin
Tucker/Warren
Love/free agent/maybe Alec Brown
Plumlee/Len

That would be a pretty deep team. Basically imagine the team last year when Bledsoe was injured, except you have Love instead of Frye and the Morris brothers. I would take that team. Plumlee and Len are expected to show great improvement as well as Goodwin. The Suns are probably hesitant to give Bledsoe a max and let's be honest, does anybody actually think a dual point guard lineup will ever win a championship? I do not. I think they can be awesome and make the playoffs, but I do not see a team like that winning the title. This potential new lineup is much more traditional while still being versatile. I also think the Wolves would accept that deal for Love. You are getting an up and coming possible star point guard and two forwards that also are on the rise. All three players are proven to be good and none of them will be unrestricted free agents after next season.

Why the fuq do we want Thomas?!! GROSS...we might as well bring back Aaron Brook and find where Boykins is hanging out these days. How short does the team need to be? I can't believe this...I take back everything I've said about Melo, I'd rather freaking have Melo than Thomas. Geez. And if we trade Dragic, what then?! What in gods name will be get back without being fleeced.

I'd rather overpay Bledsoe and take on his injury risk because of his upside in negating his height issues. There's no way our back court can could withstand starting Bledsoe and Thomas together.

I dont know. I had a long day at work and now this. : )

Ish gave us some great minutes last year, especially with Bled getting injured. If we drop Ish and give those minutes plus more to Thomas I'd be OK with it for sure.

If they can get Isiah on a short term deal I dont mind over paying this year and have it be a depreciating contract so maybe 8,5,3 similar to PJ's deal. Maybe they just want to run the hell out of every other team in the league so they are going to do like the Spurs and play 10-12 guys a night be it to be a full on track meet the entire game.

The writing is on the wall… IF Suns sign I.Thomas.

The way I look at it, Suns can afford to max one of Dragic and Bledsoe, Thomas then gets half of that, around 7 million.

This is sustainable…

2 Max contracts for two PGs… when the team has 2-3 spots that need boosting up…. is illogical.

You only max 2 PGs, if you don’t need to upgrade other spots.
