Bucks looking at Bledsoe, probably.

Lin would be our best PG immediately and could make sense as a longer term piece, but the real issue is not getting an asset (i.e. future 1st, Terrence Jones) that could potentially come along with him. Also at issue is the seemingly inert, un-proactive approach from Hamway.

I dont know if Jabari, Giannis, Bledsoe would be enough to beat that team.

Our rebuild just got that much harder.

We're not getting another top 5 pick in the draft. It's not happening.

Best PG immediately, sure, but that's not saying much.

Long term piece?

No. No no no no no.

No.

Correct, so people shouldn't freak out as soon as we aren't in one proposed, attractive deal. It's confirmation bias against Hamway to do so. Fans could at least be patient and wait a while and for several alternative deals to go down during the fa period before starting to trash Hamway somewhat deservedly. I feel with cap space and all of the opportunities out there, Hamway should be expected to come away with some asset, as many other teams are, but it doesn't need to be a specific one two minutes after the LeBron domino falls.

Still waiting for the cue to stop the current one.

I think sometimes people on here forget there are 29 other teams in the league with the ability to impact any giventransaction. Its not like Hammond isn't making the calls, other teams aren't obligated to trade with the Bucks.

I don't think people forget that. I think people see superior front offices consistently outmaneuvering us. For any given transaction, sure. But we have six years of history to establish a pattern of 'earnest diligence' leading to 'jack squat'.

I highly doubt it unless we tear down a bit or lightening strikes twice for us. I look forward to visiting this topic later on in the year.

I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that the organization didn't really have a clear path and mandate from ownership besides make the playoffs whatever you have to do. Let's give Hammond a little time to implement a different vision before we criticize him for not making moves. I see a lot of knee-jerk reactions.

It gives us a starting PG for the year that still has some potential, but far more importantly, it gives us a 1st round pick plus potentially another asset for taking him on.

Lin isn't a bad player, and we'd be getting one or two solid assets for taking him for one year. It's a very good deal.

Uh oh, Houston has to match Parsons, Trade 3 - Absorb Montiejunas and Terrence Jones

If that was the Lakers that pulled that off instead of chasing free agents;

Linn, Nash, Marshall
Kobe,
T Jones
Randle, Monteijunas
Asik, Sacre

Crazy.

So Asik was traded to the Pels and the PELICANS added a 1st.

And there are enough teams with space that the Lin dump appears to have a price tag of their #1. Which, given their impressive team, will be VERY late.

So they essentially dumped both and not only kept DJones and Motie, but MOVED UP in the draft from their pick to the Pels pick.

To be clear, I'm fine with us not getting Lin, I just want to see something genuinely positive happen with our cap space.

Yeah, Im pretty indifferent. The assets would have been nice, but its not like the picks would have been early in the round.

As a suns fan I like linn to the Lakers. Probably makes them just good enough to get out of the bottom 5 but should still be bad enough where a late loto pick goes to the suns. In hindsight trading 2 1st rounders to sign Nash was a disaster of a move for the lakers.

The bucks fan in me is a little disappointed we didn't take Lin and get the extra 1st rounder.

Lin to the Lakers makes sense.

Bet LA has less assets heading their way than either the 76ers or us. Rockets assuredly would have preferred to send him out of conference all else equal otherwise.

Seems like the Lakers are missing on all the superstars so thought they'd pick up a crowd-pleaser with an expiring contract and take another shot at it next year.

Also, it's good for any Bucks fans who want Bledsoe since it seems to take them out of contention for acquiring him.

And it's done:

http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/23 ... om-Rockets

The Houston Rockets have agreed to trade Jeremy Lin to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Rockets must clear Lin from their salary cap in order to sign Chris Bosh to a max contract.

The Lakers have plenty of cap space to trade for Lin and his contract expires after the 14-15 season.

Update: The Lakers will receive a future first round pick and other draft considerations, while sending back cash and the rights to an overseas player back to the Rockets.

He's had 6 years and plenty of failure to show for it. He doesn't get the benefit of doubt because he doesn't deserve it.
