Lebron trying to take pressure off next year BS statement

Post#1 » by tankwatch1 » Fri Jul 11, 2014 6:21 pm

It looks like Lebron is already trying to make an excuse for not winning next year. Here is the statement that separates Lebron from Jordan and Kobe. " I’m not promising a championship. I know how hard that is to deliver. We’re not ready right now. No way. Of course, I want to win next year, but I’m realistic. It will be a long process, much longer than it was in 2010". Listen if I know one thing Las Vegas gives a true indication of how good a team is. Cleveland has been made the 3/1 favorite to win the NBA Championship next year. The eastern conference is terrible and if Chicago does not get Carmelo Anthony, it's a cake walk to the finals next year for the Cavs. Obviously the Cavs will get other players now taking less money just to win a title and play with Lebron.

I hate how Lebron already is trying to not put pressure on himself to win next year. He is the best player in the world with a free pass to the finals next year. It's not a given the western conference champion will be better than the Cavs when all the moves are made.

Jordan and Kobe Bryant would never make a statement trying to concede next year. I'm not a huge Carmelo Anthony fan, but I want the Cavs to have some resistance next year in the east. If the Cavs just get to the finals next year Lebron can say it was a successful year. I'm not buying it. The east is brutal, just like this year when the Heat deserved no credit for making the finals.

It is okay! You drafted Marcus Smart!

Literally everything LeBron says is scrutinzed.

He goes to Miami, says he's going to win a bunch of championships... to this day, people give him crap about the "not 1, not 2, not 3" stuff...

Now he goes to Cleveland, deliberately goes out of his way to NOT guarantee a championship (presumably because of the backlash last time), and people say he's trying to take pressure off himself so he doesn't deliver what could be a failed promise.

LeBron called himself the most scrutinized athlete in the world a few months ago... he's completely right. The LeBron hate is so irrational that it's legitimately sad. People will villify him for whatever reason they can.

LeBron is the only reason I watch basketball. Stop trying to dictate who I follow. Thanks. I'm loyal to a player instead of a team. Deal with it.

Trust me sir I know Marcus Smart was not the right pick. The two players selected before ( Dante Exum) and after him (Julius Randle) will be difference makers. No argument here on being upset with the Smart pick.

You were upset enough to remove the Cavs from your favorite teams. You're a joke.

No, but it occurred to me that immediately calling myself a Cavs fan would be disingenuous... being that I'm loyal to LeBron instead of a team, why bother putting a logo at all?

Seriously man, what's your problem? I'm not trolling anyone, I stuck up for LeBron in this topic. LeBron is a transcendent player. He's the reason I started watching basketball to begin with.

Why is being loyal to a team so admirable, but being loyal to a player some heinous, disgusting act? If I wanted to bandwagon I'd go become a Spurs fan.

Im breaking down his essay. I thought it was a fair point to make. I mean they are favorite to win the title next year and I'm sure multiple players will now be coming to the Cavs. How could he say don't expect much next year if they are the favorite?
