Lets agree to disagree on Deng. I am on record for wanting him. Still no comment on my lineup of

Dragic
Bledsoe
Deng
Len
Plumlee

Dang!!! I just notice.....look at that defense?! Not exceptional but very good and ATHLETIC!! and Tell front court, with a bench.

Is it just me or does Deng suffer from Greg Oden disease in that it looks like he ages in dog years. He looks a lot older than 29 if you compare side by sides of him and Goran they look like they are from different generations.

You can't convince a superstar to come to a team that can't even get to an 8th seed by themselves. How are you expecting that superstar to come in *and* launch us immediately from where you want us to be, which is right near the bottom, immediately to the top?

You need to build the foundation for a superstar player to say "hmmm, you know what, if I went there, they could go from a 6th-8th seed to the top of the conference."

Getting good players does that. Deng is a good player. If not him there are some other good players, too. Is Deng at the top of my wishlist? Of course not. But I'm not going to act like a weepy vagina if we signed him.

You'd think we'd have gotten rid of this loser mentality after we won 48 games last year after being expected to win 20, but I guess not.

I agree that the "not the 8th seed!!!" line of thinking is a poor argument against signing Deng.

The reason I don't want to sign Deng is that quite simply, I don't think he's worth his asking price. What made our team so wonderful last season was the Dragic/Bledsoe combination. They NEED spacing in order to play the way they did last year. With Channing/Tucker staying outside the 3 point line, they had all the room in the world to slice/dice their way to becoming the "Slash Brothers".

Deng is strictly a midrange guy: he shot 30% from 3 last season. And he's not really all that efficient otherwise, either. His TS last season was higher than it had been the previous 2 years, but it was still only .516; for comparison's sake, renowned chucker Russel Westbrook clocks in at .545.

He's not going to suddenly become a marksman at 29 years old.

If you can get Deng at like 6 million on a short deal, then sure. But he's going to want more money, more years, and I don't think he's worth it.

Interesting lineup. I would like to see how they play together. We could speculate after seeing how Len & Plumlee do in summer league.

Not to mention, but they finished as the second best defensive rated team in the league. The main difference between Deng and P.J. Tucker is that Deng is taller, but his shooting percentages are not good. 43% fg and 30% 3pts (awful 3 point shooter). After just agreeing to re-sign Tucker and having a rookie that averaged 25 ppg in college ready to play, I have no idea why the Suns would want to give big money to Deng. He is barely an upgrade over P.J., if at all.

Highlight videos shouldn't be used as selling points. Watch some Beasley highlights and he looks like a god. Deng is exponentially better(there's no comparison between the two), but I have concerns about his fit and his price tag.

I kind of like this line-up...

Dragic/Bledsoe
Green 6'8"
Deng 6'8"
Kieff 6'10"
Len 7'1

That is a very tall & athletic line-up

So now that LBJ is leaving Miami, is that McRoberts deal still valid? If not, I'd like to see McD to go after him as our Frye replacement.

Len can stretch, but that's way too many big bodies in the middle for Bled and Dragic to penetrate. Len doesn't have a proven jumper and Deng is meh. Not bad but not a sharpshooter by any means. We need that stretch 4. Here's hoping Kieff develops that consistent 3. Len isn't a 4..

If Deng stays in Clevland, ...whoaaaa talk about talent on that roster.

Irving
Waiters
Deng/Wiggins
Lebron/Thomas
Varajo

If Lebron can keep Waiters in check, mentor Wiggins, and get Anthony Bennett on the treadmill, that team is already dangerous without trading for Kevin Love or adding Chris Bosh.

You have got to be kidding me. So because you post a video of Luol Deng having 37 points, 7 assists, and 8 rebounds, and 7 turnovers, I am supposed to be impressed? What about the fact that it was a triple overtime game and he played 56 minutes? Or that they lost the game. Or better yet, that they lost the game to the freakin' Pelicans who were horrible. That actually makes it even worse. He needed three overtimes and 56 minutes to get those statistics only to see his team lose to an inferior team. So this video is supposed to convince me that he is worth 12 million dollars a year? Okay, I will post a video of Gerald Green having 41 points in 41 minutes including 8 threes against the Thunder where the Suns actually won the game (far more impressive) and claim that Gerald Green is worth 12 million a year because of it.

I have hunch that Horny could build a scheme to make it work. There is more than one way to run an offense.

Yeah, and I can't imagine him wanting to stay now that James has left and Bosh is basically gone. I think him agreeing to sign there was with the belief the Big 3 would be returning. He'd be better off returning to Charlotte than joining Miami (it feels odd saying that, but it's true!).

He'd be crazy not to go to Houston, especially if his only other option is returning to Miami.
