This doesn't feel like our team anymore...

Post#1 » by KI-DW-TT-AB » Fri Jul 11, 2014 9:46 pm

I mean, I was looking forward to our team next year, you know.

kyrie, waiters, wiggins, tt, varejao.

I was looking forward to watching AB redeem himself.

to go & show the world what we've built, what those 4 years were about...

but now, now it's just lebron, those other players are nothing but "supporting cast" & "trading chips", it's all media whoring & bandwagonism from now on.

... it's not the same...

I've been hearing from RealGM for the last 4 years how LeBron needs help.

Now you're telling me that the media thinks LeBron is ready to lead this team all by himself?

Every time LeBron wins it's going to be on some "he did it".

when he loses it'll be because "cavs failed".

Can't wait for the "crazy how good the team would be if cavs had drafted this way" opinions.

I def get where you are coming from. The potential of Wiggins AB coming back healthy and the development of Irving with Waiters was really something I was looking forward to. Having said that, lets be realistic. We just went from potential 8th-6th seed to a top seed in the east. With Love and moves, we become East favorites. I'l take that over watching 3-4 years of development to watch the cavs compete in the finals. Thats how I see it, but I get where you are coming from.

Also, I guarantee winning will make you forget about this too.

Don't feel bad. We get to watch our young guys develop while winning.

It isn't as if we bought the success to come like Miami; it was paid for by a lot of losing and a little luck. We accumulated assets and we can enjoy the fruits of those losing seasons.

as long as we don't ship out a lot of those guys to get Love.

I think two will be gone soon. Them's the breaks though and we would have lost at least one anyway. Four top-four draft picks on one roster, all ending their rookie contracts around the same time, gets mighty expensive.

I kind of agree and it's a different experience and joy watching young players grow and develop but when we start competing for championships it'll be worth it. Yeah lebron will get a lot of the spotlight but we will still have a couple of guys like Kyrie and TT that we've had from the start and we can be happy about that.

It's a weird feeling, I know. Now a flood of new posters and new fans. It happened on the Nets board last year (on a smaller scale of course) when the Nets added Pierce/Garnett/Kirilenko etc.

I'm not a first-string Cleveland-faithful like you guys, but I have pulled for the Cavs since 2002 (when they drafted Wagner), which includes before and after Lebron, and I'm really happy to see you guys become a premier franchise again. It's not often the league's top team has a real fanbase...it'd be cool to see it here.

You're working from an old paradigm. In the past that was true, because well the team was weak outside of James. That is not going to be the case this year. James is a Cavalier. There is nothing negative about that.

Relax man, I'm not your enemy.

I've defended the Cavs for years when people claimed they didn't put talent around him. (the Boozer screwjob, Larry Hughes's and Jamison's stats pre-signing with Cleveland, and the fact that Miami never won more regular season games with Lebron then Cleveland did)

I understand that you're not our enemy right now but we just came off 4 years where literally you can count on 2 hands # of posters who defended the cavs on here.

Feel free to come and chat anytime Cy! And to KI, I kinda get what youre saying, but this is still a monumental day for the Cavs. I just want to see them keep Wiggins, he and Kyrie are the 5 years away future.

Well I'm one of them. One example of me getting my thread locked and infraction points under my old name for daring to point out the efforts the Cavs made to help him:

It's a really great day. The Nets had a mini-resurgence last year (though it didn't last, health etc) and now the Cavs are back in the best way possible. There is no city that deserves a juggernaut team more than Cleveland.

A lot of people are also pissed when I suggest that Love, Lebron, Wiggins and Irving might be stronger than the Heat's big three. :) But I haven't watched enough of Love or Wiggins to really say that.

Cleveland's a Finals team already, whether they can win it all is another story but it's better than being the Miami Heat right now. The Pacers, Nets, Heat, Hornets, Bulls, Wizards aren't beating Lebron in a 7 game series. It may be all about him to the media and most fans but you can enjoy the entire team, it is what you make it. Enjoy the rewards of sticking loyal to the Cleveland Cavaliers rather than what other people are doing.

I definitely understand the feeling, but the Cavs are back now. It was great watching Kyrie and Dion and everyone else take their lumps and develop in the past 2-3 years. Those guys are only going to get enhanced. And you have to remember, once LeBron retires in 5+ years, Kyrie and Wiggins will hopefully be taking over like Duncan did for Robinson. But forget the band wagoners, and the new press. The Cavs are a top 3 team in the east and are going to be fun to watch every night. It's great to think that everyone who laughed at Cle, who said Kyrie would never re-sign, who said we'd be mediocre by trying to make the playoffs this past year, who said LeBron would never come back, were wrong. And now they have to watch us win.

Return to Cleveland Cavaliers
