I think it CERTAINLY lowers the likelyhood of him getting matched.

Think about that. Morey had him under contract for 780k next year and let him out and he may very well let him walk.

I hated it then and I am laughing about it now.

Sam Amick ‏@sam_amick 27s
Suns' vision still includes Eric Bledsoe, who is a restricted free agent. Phoenix views Thomas as great third guard to play with EB & Dragic

I'd say it was worth the risk to open up max cap space while bringing Parsons back as well on a longer deal. It just didn't work out, so far anyway.

Yeah, they made similar risks that ended up netting them Howard and Harden. My guess is that if they strike out further, they can just pull in several 1 year guys, or even 2 year contracts that are easily dealt away next year and try to grab a max guy again.

It didn't open up ANYTHING. In fact, his cap hold tripled. If he were still under contract this year they would be able to patiently track something down and if not this year they have him all year and have Bird rights next year like Indy has on Stephenson this year.

It was dumb then and dumber now.

Barring Cleveland being the real Hellmouth from Buffy, LeBron going to the Cavaliers guarantees Cleveland makes the playoffs and won't win the lottery again in 2015, upping ours anyone and else's chances by 50%.

No they didn't. They didn't give up much for either. Kevin Martin's expiring, Lamb, Adams? And nothing for D12.

Kings losing Thomas sets them up perfectly for a Brandon Knight, Ilyasova, Mayo acquisition. We take back Carl Landry & the expiring contracts of Jason Terry, Travis Outlaw, & Reggie Evans. Probably some picks. Make it happen Ham.

I just don't buy this probable posturing from the Suns. They take Ennis in the teens of an outstanding draft, sign Thomas for almost 7 mil per, and they haven't moved on the Bledsoe front yet. Either they don't feel comfortable with maxing him out due to his lack of sample or injuries and are really trying to extract some assets in a sign and trade here, or they have some "interesting" ideas on what wins a lot of games in the NBA these days. They'd have several long-term 1's, several long-term 3's (especially if they sign Deng), and a virtually barren frontcourt. I know they like small ball there, but that's pretty extreme. If I'm a team who really likes Bledsoe, I'd sign him to the offer sheet, and practically call their bluff. I'm not giving up that much in a sign and trade. From the Bucks' perspective that means no more than like Ilyasova/Knight or Ilyasova/Henson. Either would balance out their roster a lot better than now. I don't think I'd even do both Henson and Knight now. That's two solid assets maybe that we didn't need to give up.

Has there been a longer thread in our history that pretty much amounted to nothing?

We had a lot of threads on Brandon Jennings.

He amounted to nothing.

According to Wery, he's considering the Bucks when he's free agent.
