Keep J Smoove
After seeing all this rediculous contracts being given out and seeing what Josh makes, I would not be appose to keeping him. I mean I would be down with moving him if we actually good value back not that garbage offer we got from the kings.

I mean yea if we're being offered garbage for him then yes keep him by all means..doesn't justify his money or how he plays just because others are getting paid. Still want him moved at the end of the day, but with something of value in return.

Re: Keep J Smoove
I want to keep Smith because he's a perfect fit next to Monroe. Now that LeBron is in our division, having Smith is a plus. I agree with you though mus123, if we can get good value in-return I'm all for trading Smith. I know we're not trading Smith for garbage.

Re: Keep J Smoove
No need to dump him for Terrence Jones to Houston, unless we're getting back some future first round picks.
From everything I've heard and read about SVG's stance, he's not looking for salary dumps for Smith or Jennings. If he trades them it's because he's getting a player he values in return. At least, for the time being.

I could definitely see HOU being interested but I don't really want anything they have.

Re: Keep J Smoove
If we keep Smith we will have strong front along side with Dre and Moose and SVG as a choch.
So if cant get something good back from Smith we should keep him.

Re: Keep J Smoove
SVG has said from the start that if you consider Smith one of our bigs we potentially have the best PF/C rotation in the East.
Why wouldn't we want to keep that going?

At this point our options are dwindling anyway.
May have no choice but to put on a good face and try to make JSmoove the super-sub work.

Re: Keep J Smoove
This is what I think will happen. SVG will wait to see if Monroe get the max. He'll match it if it's mutual. Then we have the rest of our cap space to sign our last significant FA. It's doable. But it's looking like Jennings and Smith will stay. We could maybe have Ariza coming. Who knows

The more I think about it big man rotation of Moose, Smith And AD would give us something no other team has. I am very confident that Josh at the 4 will work. For all the flack he gets dude should of been an all star couple years ago.

I hope he's smart enough to not be thinking that. As soon as Monroe gets a max offer we are on the clock to spend our $8 mil within 3 days otherwise it drops down to ~$4 mil.

I would take Terrence Jones in an instant

Re: Keep J Smoove
I like Coach Nick's breakdown of player contracts, that there's a lot more players that are actually under-paid under the current CBA.
NBA teams have paid players an average of $1.7M per win-share under the current CBA. Using that formula; we see Jodie Meeks is actually under-paid based on his performance last season. In contrast, Josh Smith is grossly overpaid.
Here's what each player on the Pistons would earn by Nick's formula; if they were all free-agents today (based on last season).
Andre Drummond: 9.9 Win-Shares for $16.83M per season
Greg Monroe: 5.9 W/S for $10.03M
Jodie Meeks: 4.5 W/S for $7.65M
Kyle Singler: 4.4 W/S for $7.48M
Brandon Jennings: 3.9 W/S for $6.63M
Rodney Stuckey 2.2 W/S for $3.74M
KCP: 1.8 W/S for $3.06M
Jonas Jerebko: 1.4 W/S for $2.38M
Cartier Martin: 1.3 W/S for $2.21M
Josh Smith: 1.1 W/S for $1.87M
Will Bynum: 1 W/S for $1.7M
The rest of the players have negative win-shares, and well, you can't make players pay to play, yet.

See I didn't know that lol. Then he probably knows his targets and is just waiting for an offer sheet to match

We've gotta roll with all 3 and trust in Stan to make it work. The 3 bigs is our competitive advantage and sets us up pretty nicely compared to the rest of the conference. Now if we could just get that go to perimeter guy.

It would be a steal if we could get T. Jones for Josh Smith and then trade Bynum/Gigi for Green, we'd have cap in 2015 to upgrade at PG to go after Dragic or Rondo
Jennings/Roberts/Dinwiddie
KCP/Meeks/Martin
Green/Singler/Jerebko
Monroe/T. Jones/Mitchell
Drummond/Monroe/Gray
