But does anyone honestly believe we should actually root for Lebron? He ditched Wade when it became convenient. He quit on a championship team in the middle of it's run. He blindsided the entire organization AND his teammates. He called us "college" .........

Dude. I know we want to be classy. Let's not be mean about Bron. etc etc..... but we are letting him off the hook. He deserves some criticism.

I will root against him. He did us kinda dirty, man. Our run wasn't over. He left us with the taste of a Spurs beatdown with no shot at revenge.

Im telling you Bledsoe might be attainable if we throw the max at him. We need to take the risk it's an overpay and get him.

I logged back on to ask one simple question. what's the fascination with a 4 yr 6.1 185 guard WITH a qualifying offer from his current team?

If we play the same way, wouldn't he be just like Cole? If we changed our offense a little and let guys ACTUALLY PLAY, would cole/napier(4 yr college player) be more cost effective?

Again, what's the fascination, what am I missing with this guy?

Better than Cole Nappier combined but NOT WORTH MAX AT ALL IMO. Yikes.

AGAIN, MAYBE, JUST MAYBE we're judging this guy by how he played for the SUNSm and nor how he'd play for us..BUT again,..I surrender. I just don't buy getting excited ANYMORE about another players ability on another team unless he is the lead dog on our team........BUT I SURRENDER

Yes, I know, but I was asking if it's too late to ask if he'd be willing to drop a few mil a year, you know for the squad.

no way, hed get offended an go to HOU lol

Well when I imagined the scenario I pictured him making this face

But before Bosh can pick up the phone to dial Houston, Riles would say

"Just kidding, here's the contract"

Lets be honest...the fact that we paid three guys so much money on an NBA team and still had success is amazing. This is probably the only combination of guys that could take a roster of vets and such and make it to the Finals 4 years in a row. Our first championship? We drilled a completely inexperienced team in the Thunder. Second one? We beat a slightly fatigued Spurs team with a few guys who were new to the finals stage..I mean BARELLLLY beat them. The times we lost? Mavericks and Spurs...a team made up of just solid players all around.

Look at it this way, the fact we even won two championships with our roster is amazing. We were terrible at rebounding, we played "who will be the hero tonight" way too much, and face it, we were becoming ancient. There was no way Lebron would have stayed with what the team was heading towards. You can't pay three guys so much money and expect to still have a team around you. We have zero valuable young players, we never have draft picks, and vets can't compete with good talent unless someone spoon feeds them their points.

This time around I am happy Bosh is staying...he can easily give us 20 and 10. Lets not forget old man Wade still averaged over 18 ppg with Lebron around...that will go up also. As for the rest of the roster, we need some youth. I hate when we stack our entire roster with guys in their 30's. Experience is one thing, but the Spurs exposed our age on the defensive side. People were way too slow on rotation and just completely worn out. I would hate to see us give guys in their 30's all our remaining salary. Its ok to want to win right now, but be realistic. In 2 years Wade will be 34, Bosh will be 32.....who is going to want to join that team? We need to groom some young talent. That is all I ask. Doesn't mean make the whole team young, but train someone so we look like an attractive destination in a few years.

After 45 yrs in the business and having coached legends/HOF'ers, MVPS, etc. do you really think he has to try and piss off LBJ....

LBJ wanted to go home......PERIOD...

I'm not saying he's mad he went home...he's mad that they got blindsided and he's a competitor. Everyone saying he can't build a winning team without LeBron now...he's gonna prove people wrong

i understood your point/post....but I don't think Riley got blindsided......He already built several winning teams without LBJ....Look, I get your point....enjoy your FRIDAY

Times like these I am thankful for my fellow heat fans.....we ate this punch like it was nothing

Sn: Wade does it again giving us flexibility with the cap, LeBron was never ours, he was a rental, F him now he is the enemy, he is nothing like Wade is ours for life and I still think he has atleast 3 great years left if we give him the team....Bosh is now probably going to dominate......few more pieces and we'll be ready

Being classy doesn't mean you have to root for him. I know I won't. I see no problem with criticism, its not like you made tshirts calling his mom a whore or are photoshopping 8 head bands onto his face.

Ouch....

This hurts to read again. I remember reading this back in 2012 but didn't pay much attention to it, now it makes sense.

He is a potential very very good point guard. He showed it in LA, and he sort of proved it this year (half season due to injury). But you are right in that we shouldn't throw MAX at players with potential and stats they got from other teams, but that's pretty much the norm these days otherwise we get no one and stuck with Cole/Nappier.

With that said, I would rather go with Cole/Nappier than paying Bledsoe MAX. MAX should be kept for real MAX players and I don't think there are any left this year.

Hmm. Assuming a few things: Renouncing Mario Chalmers, accounting for the players on the roster, the honoring of the Josh McRoberts contract, the signing of D Wade at around 14 mil, the signing of Haslem at 4 mil, the holding of Birdman's rights and empty roster charges the Heat will have 12.2 mil we can use to chase free agents. Since we are now operating under the cap, we can use the room exception to sign Granger once we surpass it.

With that 12.2 we can easily sign Luol Deng or Paul Gasol. We could overpay Ariza or save some coin and start him at around 10 mil a year. What would be interesting is if Haslem took 2 mil starting and Wade 10 mil starting. That would free up another 6 mil. If we trade Norris Cole we would be looking at almost 20 mil in cap space. While not the full on max Carmelo Anthony is looking for it's not far off? Would joining a team of Wade, Bosh plus scrappy role players entice him enough to make that pay cut? Interesting to think about....

Chris Bosh 20,644,400
Dwyane Wade 14,000,000 [Projected]
Udonis Haslem 4,000,000 [Projected]
Norris Cole 2,038,206
Shabazz Napier 1,032,200
Chris Andersen 915,243
Justin Hamilton 816,482
Josh McRoberts 5,305,000
Empty Roster Holds 2,029,344
Salary Total 50,780,875
Salary Cap 63,065,000

Danny Granger 2,077,000 [to be signed once we surpass room exception]

I am choosing to root FOR my Miami Heat and against anyone who plays against us. He wanted to go home...He went home.....as lame as anyone want to put it, that's the best excuse/reason to have when you want to move on.

So true about Wade being the most important person (not just player) in Heat history.

So happy that this guy will be finishing out his career in Miami

And for the record...I am positive D Wade's tank isn't close to empty.

I'm not liking all these new reports of these BS stories on why he left. All just fabricated, he wasn't indecisive and was going to leave regardless.

It may be a nice story that he wins in Cleveland but my main and only concern is the Heat getting back to the finals. Quite frankly if LeBron never wins a title again then I couldn't care less. I have no need to be invested on if he'll be the potential GOAT, he isn't part of the Heat anymore.

Not bitter, I came to terms almost immediately he announced so it's more competitive nature. I'd love the Heat to knock off the Cavs with Bosh and Wade destroying them. It'd be so sweet in sense that we got deep in the playoffs before him, with him and AFTER him.

I absolutely agree. LBJ dominate game is ugly as hell. It's effective because he is good (the best?), but it's not good basketball at all. I guess Spurs is an easy/lame example, but we do need to reinvent ourselves.. and I believe we will by default because we have to play as a team without LeBron. Blessing in disguise.
