If I am being more honest I think he is using that to mask his move back. Not saying that he doesn't love the city but from what we are hearing today sounds like there was legit power problems between Riley and his entourage (nothing serious but they want more power and Riley isn't going to let a bunch of guys under 30 run this franchise). Then you add in the unlimited marketing potential, of course our roster got older and we were limited by the new CBA and thus you have the, "I love home, I am going back". I understand the reasons mind you, nothing against him but those are the real reasons IMO rather than I wanna go home.
I don't think its fake, because theres also the angle that he left Miami when we lost -- like ok here he goes giving up again. He doesn't know how this would go over but he def HAD to be doing this for the right reasons or he wouldn't do it. Lebron was living the life in Miami - great weather, great food, great city, flash and eye candy all over. The man left a championship caliber team to go back to some young scrubs. You don't think he believes Riley could have retooled this summer? Of course he knew.
He loves that city man,you don't give up Miami for that shid unless its real.
Except if you've ever taken a public speaking class you would notice that the entirety of the letter was riddled with examples of the skyhook principle and other emotional appeals which has the effect of endearing all parties involved. The fact that the letter alludes to the possibility that achieving titles in Cleveland would be difficult helps remove the pressure he might otherwise recieve next year.
Lebron did not write that letter. Plain and simple. If you've ever heard him speak you know that this is not the way he converses (just being honest). This was written by a PR specialist.
Now the question is, did he mean what is written? Maybe. But I doubt LeBron leaves if we win this year. I do think he would eventually return to Cleveland, but maybe in his older age. The move to cleveland is ideal atm. Both personnel, PR, and business wise.
That ship has sailed though, the show goes on.

And you don't think he knew going back to Cleveland would make him an instant hero rather than the polarizing figure he is right now? Just look at the GB, it doesn't represent all hoops fans but it is a big board and you can use it to somewhat analyze the minds of the casual fans. I am not going there much but the LeBron back to Cleveland thread was full of posters from all teams saying, "Good for Cleveland, you guys deserve him, the King is back, screw Miami, now I can respect him, winning 1 here is better than 2 more in Cleveland" etc. etc.
It was a shrewd business move man and SAS was talking about his team had been in touch with Cavs for a while and how LeBron was counting down the days to his free agency. Then of course, the Cavs luck into Wiggins and it is a better long-term roster for him. It may even be better in the short-term if they can get Love and get more veteran players which is possible now.
Well to be honest we've pretty much always gotten **** talked on the GB. Got **** talked before Lebron and we will continue to get **** talked long after hes gone. Seems the mods are a lot more sympathetic to us nowadays than in the past though. Piston and Laker fans could bait the **** out of us with no repercussion.

Maybe because Wade is alpha. He never really adapted to the beta role.
Oh man, if Alpha Wade comes back.
And this is not a shot to LeBron, we just saw 4 years of his prime, but Wade was most exciting. WITHOUT A DOUBT.

i just said the same thing. Making the Allstars and Olympic team will be very important for our big 3 version 2.0
**** that **** man, forget it. Im sure it would be fun for them. But the big 3 era is over. Hes gone, im not looking forward to seeing them together again.
He wasn't talking about Lebron coming back, just a different big 3 forming
Yeah Baby!

yes he knew America wanted this. But why does it matter? He doesn't care what they think, his shid still sells out everywhere he goes. Highest selling shoe regardless, top selling jersey. He didn't need this. He needed rings, more of them. Better chance immediately in Miami. Could have gotten to chase two more here and move on. Why didnt he just wait it out, he really felt this team sucks? Hard to believe.

Lequit thinks he could just run away from Miami's run scott free into the arms of a welcoming media that will love him.
Nah son. Give it time. You ran from a championship team in the midst of it's run, and refused to come back and get revenge on the Spurs.

That's a whole lotta ifs but I get your point. Realistically I expect us to be a 4-8 seed, could be anywhere depending upon the health of Wade and other players in the conference. BTW, I really appreciate your coming on this board often and discussing hoops. You are one of the better posters on this site.
thank you for the kind words.
I agree it is a lot of ifs and there is a possible scenario that is dark. That said the scenario I outlined isn't complete gibberish. Wade will play more games next year and his 2014 campaign wasn't nearly as bad as people think. Bosh is capable of more production and you guys have a ton of cap space.
I'll give you perspective as a Knick fan. Before the exit I was dead set against re-signing Melo under the theory that by the time we have a shot of winning he'll be shot. Now the romantic part of my soul wants him to stay because I look at the EC and see 1999 all over again.
I'm not an Irving fan and think he's overrated. Chicago seems to be an overachieving RS team and Rose looked to be a mess in 2014. Indy may be losing Stephenson and looked horrible in the 2nd half of the year. The rest of the conference is blah. Given all that I think a 45 win caliber team has an outside shot at the CF or even finals if they got hot at the right time.
The West is the exact opposite. I think there is a very good chance that one of the Big 3 won't get out of the first round.

I'm guessing the Heat FO is done for the night
Deng or somebody would look for a meeting
Or did we meet with Deng already? I think we did actually last week
