NOT A BANDWAGON Fan ANYMORE, But a True Heat Fan

Post#1 » by HEAT_ME_UP » Sat Jul 12, 2014 2:11 am

Today I just realized that am more of a Heat(team) fan than Lebron's. I was really rooting for this guy and I became a "heat fan" in 2010 just cause of Lebron. But today after his "decision" was made I felt like my love was more incline towards the Heat than Lebron's. I will stick with this team no matters what and will support them till the end. Moments like this makes fan bases even stronger and you start appreciating your team even more.

Thank you Lebron for giving me the best 4 years of watching basketball and making me a true Heat Fan.

Hope am not the only one that feels like this.

Good for you, man. I don't begrudge the bandwagoners. People forget we're a very young franchise. Yeah I've loved this team since before Bimbo Coles was running the point but we're a fanbase that's just now having another generation grow into it. Whatever led you here welcome and I hope you continue to love the team and do our fanbase proud.

Same. I think all the national hate following this team the last 4 years has bonded the team to me. I want them to prove everyone wrong and win the title this year.

Hats off to you. To some of the real OGs I can be viewed as a bandwagon fan when I followed Alonzo Mourning to the Heat. The one good thing about bandwagon fans is that whenever things hit the fan some of them do stick around and root for the team.

Born and raised in county of Wade. I am old, still nothing but love for the whole Heat family. Like when them NYers come down, but still stick around 10+ years later. You know you love the bottom. Mad love to whole Fam...and to new Heater4Lyfe BOSH!!!

Same here bro.

I am from a city that doesn't have a basketball team so I never had a local team to latch onto. The NBA is weird like that though...no other sport has as big of a "follow the player, not team" fan base...I could never see myself just following a player in any other sport. I love my local teams like no other...just was different in basketball.

I always admired the Heat though since Riley got there...the Zo, Hardaway, Mash, PJ, and Leonard squad all the way up to Wades time. So add in the fact that I am not a fan of any Cleveland sports teams due to our football rivalry, I was ecstatic when Lebron went to Miami.

Over these 4 years though, I've latched onto the team and I'm sticking with them through thick and thin. Lebron is now an afterthought although I appreciate the 4 years he was here.

You guys don't root for the Wizards up there? They are a legit top 3 seed in the east next year.

Jamal Mashburn brought me to the Heat. Was my favorite player when i was younger. When he was traded to the Heat, I change my alliance to the Heat organization.

Good stuff. Nothing wrong with it, I became a fan because of Dwyane Wade in 04.

Welcome to the HEAT family man. I am so happy that us real fans are passed the league's "bandwagon" general misconception of us. I have bled Red and Black for 24 years so trust me, there's no better organization to root for.

No...it's weird, Maryland is pretty split down the middle...Baltimore fans aren't typically fans of DC teams and vice versa.

I'm only a Caps fan because their farm team played here...the Skipjacks...when I started becoming interested in hockey in the early 90's

NOT A BANDWAGON Fan ANYMORE, But a True Heat Fan

Post#14 » by RSCD3_ » Sat Jul 12, 2014 5:37 am

I feel the exact same way as the OP.

Followed the Detroit pistons as a young kid from 03-09 but had my interest fall of as joe Dumars destroyed the team. Now they have Drummond so is be lying if I said I wasn't a fan ( because I live in the area ) but that's beside the point. When I was following the pistons in that time period I was the only one in my house who had a great interest but when I discovered this forum in 2012 ( I was around for a year before I joined ) and then this year I really ramped up my fan interest and joined this community, and it just seems wrong to leave this community just because my favorite player left.

I will still root for LeBron whenever he isn't playing the heat and I want him to win one title so this " god hates Cleveland " BS is out of the door. I decided to become a Miami fan in 2012 and I will stick to my guns and with you guys through the uncertain future.

I know with our great location that we should be a good FA area and of course pat Riley is a great recruiter / trader yet I'm curious to know how long he will stay for and what our future holds. As bosh and wade get into the last years of their contracts we probably will be in the middle of a rebuilding period and I hope that our scouting crew has and is continuing to develop.

Napier hopefully becomes a curry type point guard and Ennis can be a Shawn Marion type. Maybe Hamilton can become The stretch 5 needed to place bosh at the 4. Even if we aren't in the lottery we need to make our picks count.

It's just such a surreal feeling like ill fall asleep and RealGM will still be talking about sources and smokescreens and tracking planes

I don't know what the direction of the franchise is but I want them to develop their young talent ( Shabazz , James , justin ) while trying to remain competitive but I don't know of spo can do that.

The most interesting thing I will see is how spo changes his offensive and defensive approaches

I honestly could see anywhere from 38 to 54 wins. Hey at least it will be unpredictable and those seasons are the most fun, I'm sure 2004 was unexpected when it happened.

So here's to the 2015 season where nothing is certain but uncertainty. It's gonna be a wild ride, folks.

Go Heat!!!

I'm in the same boat. Joined the Heat fan base when LeBron joined Miami in 2010. After his decision to go back to Cleveland it felt weird even thinking about going back to being a Cleveland fan especially when Bron had accomplished what I wanted him to, win a championship. That was the main reason I left.

I was always a Sixers & Allen Iverson fan but never really embraced the whole team. I have fully embraced this Miami Heat team & not just LeBron. I still believe Wade has some left in the tank and that Bosh can get back to form now that he'll have more opportunities. This organization is greatly solid.

Not the best way to word my thoughts but all in all I am here to stay as a Miami Heat fan!! HeatNation!!
Also, I'm new to this forum. Whatsup everybody. I'm an avid basketball fan before anything.

Glad to have you guys here. I'm an Alonzo Mourning bandwagoner, so I hope that's worn off after nearly 20 years. No matter the reason you came, if you're willing to stay for the team, then you're a member of the Heat family from then on.

I doesn't matter what brought you to the place you are going, it only matters if you are willing to stay through the hard, dark, or crappy times. I welcome you to Heat Nation and hope you enjoy your stay.

every single fan starts off a bandwagoner. its not like you're born into the fandom.

mine started in '03. watched Dwyane Wade in the NCAA tournament and followed him from draft day to now. if it wasn't for him, i most likely wouldn't be a Heat fan. now 10+ years later, not only am i still a huge Wade homer, but im a big Heat fan and that will never change.
