First, Asik and Lin had talent. It is the job of the coaching staff to mold the individual talents of the players into a team. McHale, et al, didn't do that. But now, Asik and Lin are gone, with seemingly very little in return. Poor jobs by coaches and management. That is water under the bridge.

Going forward, the Rockets will not win it all with Harden, Howard, and Parsons as their big three. I seriously doubt they can make the west finals. And if you give Parsons $15m, doesn't that kill your ability to sign a better player either this year or next? I say let Parsons walk, and retain your flexibility. There have got to be better options. Do not kill your future by locking in Parsons.

What are they going to do if Howard, Harden, or Bev get injured? How are they going to fill their bench?

Morey will sign someone today (Deng, Ariza, or L. Stephenson is my guess)..Perimeter defense is their biggest need after stretch 4.
The Rockets will match Parsons tomorrow.

Morey might be down for the moment but he's not out.

They're only screwed if they match the ridiculous Parson's offer sheet. They let two OK players, that had to be played 30 million, walk. If their grand plan worked, all they get is Bosh for 20m and Parsons for 15m, and they still wouldn't have a team good enough to win the championship.

Let Parsons walk.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

They basically throw away this season if they dump Lin, Parsons and Asik and net only a Luol Deng or someone like that (or nothing at all) in return. With no productive role players outside of Jones and Beverley, they'll be a quick 1st round exit. That'll mark 1 playoff series win in 8 years for the best GM in all of sports.
