Now that Houston has missed out on all of their free agency targets, I wonder if they'd be interested in Josh Smith. That could be a lethal defensive frontline tandem with Smith and Howard...The thought just popped into my head

I do but everybody knows Smith played out of position last year. Those atrocious #'s are not what I would expect out of him if he was used as a power forward.
Along the same lines, Smith and Drummond would be a great fit if the rest of the team was further along. Drummond is essentially Howard.

More would have to get really desperate to trade for Smooth, I don't think that he can match his salary now anyways.

It depends on of Morey is smart or stupid. I think he'd be a moron to run his team with such a moronic player like Smith sucking up all that cap space.

Houston would have to make a move incredibly quick. They're running out of time to match Parsons- which they absolutely will do.
The caveat is- Houston gave up Lin and Asik to nab Bosh. With Bosh gone, he essentially downgraded his team by giving away those two. If Morey doesn't make a quick play, he definitely didn't help Houston at all this summer and effectively set them back in the strong western conference, where most teams have gotten better.
