I didn't mind the idea of bringing him on... but $7m per? We only gave Hendo $6m.

Insane. Bad deal for an OK player. At least it's short.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Re: The Marvin Williams Thread
Ariza gets 8 mill a year and we give Williams 7 mill a year, granted on a shorter deal its still ridiculous.

Re: The Marvin Williams Thread
7M a year, seriously? That's way too much. WTF.
We're up to about $50M in salaries without a backup PG, a starting 2 guard, or a veteran power forward. This is starting to scare me. Lance is looking a tad bit less likely

What the hell is going on? WTF. I'm starting to miss Higgins. I didn't want Marvin Williams bum ass on our team for 14 dollars and we gave him a extra 6 O's of $14M. No way in hell he's worth 7M a year and we got the nerve not to even put a damn team option on it. This summer just continue to get worst after a decent draft day.

K so u offer 2 years 12 or 2 years 14 with a second year team option. Marvin goes and takes the three year mle from a team for 16.
Then who r u going after?

It's about having cap flexibility in two years.

MLE is 5.8m so we overpaid by about 1.2m a year.
He was getting that MLE money from somewhere.

Coulda just brought Tolly back for the vet min.
I didn't want Marv Williams bum ass period. I woulda took a undrafted rookie over him. That Josh Davis dude with the corny cornrows. Him.

He will be a really good backup at either forward spot, but its still a shock.

Re: The Marvin Williams Thread
I'm sure it was the years. I'm assuming we were bidding vs. the Jazz. They seem to do their dealings in stealth mode like we do.
I didn't mind bringing him in, but jesus. **** $7M???

Marvin is not a bad player...
This deal sucks, but it's hardly a killer.
10.8/5.1/1.3/0.8/0.5 on .447/.335/.801 aren't scrub numbers.

Re: The Marvin Williams Thread
So do you guys foresee him starting at PF opening night? I honestly have no idea. I don't see us paying him that much to be a backup thats for sure.

Stop it. That's a garbage contract for a highly replaceable player. Rather see MKG take some PF minutes if necessary and play with more shooters at the 2 and 3. This is stupid.
Also no way Marvin Williams starts and anything good comes of that.
