That trade would definitely help aid SVG in rebuilding this team the exact way he wanted.

Melo would probably push for them to acquire his buddy JSmoove too.

Jennings, Smith for Amare/pick would be great!

I'm content makin that trade and re-signing Moose, and signing Nelson at this point.. Maybe go after dragic in 2015, or hope we get a nice draft pick with or by using a combo of ours and nyk's like the propsed trade.

The reality is the trade would look more like this:

Jennings/Smith/KCP 20151st for Amare.

As long as the Knicks believe they can get Durant with Amares cap space they arent trading it. Furthermore Phil is only trading for players who can play in the triangle or have triangle experience. None of our guys fit that.

The time to fleece the Knicks is passed. They believe they are building a dynasty and not treading water.

Another cap-cutting trade opportunity could be JSmoove/Mitchell to OKC for Perkins/Collison (both expirings)

They become:

Westbrook / Telfair
Jackson / Lamb / Roberson
Durant / Morrow / Roberson
Smith / Ibaka / PJ3
Ibaka / Adams / McGary / Thabeet

Jennings/Smith seems to me like they need to be with a dude like melo, in New York. I think it could work. Not in a contender type of way, but just a solid team that can sneak up and bite you, but stuck on the treadmill.

KCP easily most valuable IMO, would be a deal-breaker.. Would probably settle 4 amare and a pick, but i think with Hardaway Jr involved the value is fair. I can see Hardaway and KCP both combining to play a good 12-15 minutes at SF to the spread the floor alleviating some of the pressure at the 3.

I don't know, we'd be young, but I think we need to just trust the system break it down and build around that solid core that we have. Especially now with the division being as solid as it is, I say implement the system, develop and do this right.

No way this happens. Jackson and the Knicks will have 30M in cap space next off-season and will bid on an elite free agent with max money.

Jeff Green + Gerald Wallace for Josh Smith + Kyle Singler + Will Bynum ?

Then re-sign Monroe.

Drummond/Monroe/Gray
Monroe/Green/Jerebko
Green/Wallace/Datome
KCP/Meeks/Martin
Jennings/Siva/Dinwiddie

Instead of that what about:

Green + 2015 clips 1st + 2015 76ers 1st (lotto protected or 2 2nds) for S&T Monroe?

You guys end up with Jennings/KCP/Green/Smith/Drummond

Green has a PO after next season for 9.2m so you don't compromise your long term flexibility.

I'd want Olynyck in any deal with Boston

Either one of Sully or KO could be moved with that package, would depend a lot on the starting salary of monroe.

BOS does also have bogans completely unguaranteed 5mil deal and several ~1 mil unguaranteed deals to make the salaries work.

BOS might be more inclined to offer some salary relief (Jerebko maybe?) while holding on to Sully and KO.

None of that would be deal breakers though I would imagine, glad to see the framework of the deal is at least palatable.

So Celtics get Josh Smith AND Monroe and turn around and dump Gerald Wallace on us?

Why don't you have a Boston Celtics logo as your avatar bc that is the biggest Boston homer trade Ive seen in a while.

If Boston wants Monroe they will have to give us Kelly AND Sullinger bc we have the rights to match Monroe and we will do so. We arent going to trade him for a subpar package. I dont want any picks or any junk. We are giving the Celtics probably the 2nd or 3rd best bigman in the East for picks and Jeff Green sorry that is terrible. Adding Gerald Wallace to the deal is like taking a dump on the Pistons logo at halfcourt at the Palace.

Perhaps a quick minute spent reading before blasting someone would help you realize that he in fact did not suggest Smith and Monroe to Boston, but rather Smith, Singler and Bynum to Boston and the Pistons to Re-sign Monroe.

How about Monroe for Bledsoe?

Pistons could use a more traditional pg who plays D and could fix their frontcourt logjam, Minnesota needs a solid replacement for Love and a future asset, Phx needs rebounding and a stretch 4 for Dragic to work effectively with.

Phx out via S&T Bledsoe, Lakers 2015 1st round pick
Phx in Love

Detroit out Monroe via S&T
Detroit in Bledsoe

Minnesota out Love
Minnesota in Monroe, Lakers 2015 1st

Bledsoe AND Monroe would have to agree on deal though. But if everyone is willing to pay the max, they might.

Rubio
Martin
Brewer/Budinger
Monroe
Pekovic/Dieng

Bledsoe/Jennings
Caldwell Pope
Jerebko/Singler
Smith
Drummond

Dragic/Isaiah Thomas/Ennis
Green/Dragic
Tucker/Marcus Morris/Warren
Love/Markieff Morris/Marcus Morris
Plumlee/Len

In your trade scenario, Detroit would just trade Monroe/2015 pick for Love and cut Phoenix out. Additionally, it makes more sense for Detroit to re-sign Monroe and then just go after Dragic or Rondo with their 2015 capspace than it does to S&T Monroe for Bledsoe.

Yeah, I was thinking that if I was a Detroit fan I might prefer that. Because on offense, Smith could play more inside and Love could play the stretch guy. Smith could probably guard the quicker 3s too. But there is the Lakers pick that the Suns could throw in, plus maybe more players like Markieff Morris or something in the 3 way trade.

Smith is horrible at SF, even on the defensive end. I do not want him playing there even if we have a stretch 4.

I would be all over a Monroe for Bledsoe S&T. It would clear up the guard logjam that you guys have and the big man log jam that we have. I think both players are close to equal value too. Does a Monroe for Bledsoe trade work for PHX?

A lot of fans want Monroe, and a lot of fans don't. Our guards REALLY need a stretch four to work. I think most Suns fans would not do a Bledsoe for Monroe swap, but some would. I haven't seen enough of Monroe personally to know, but I know he is not a good outside shooter, and some say he can't play D well, so I don't know that I would want to do it.

However, I do like Dragic better than Bledsoe and there is some concern that our GM won't want to pay them both big money long term, so if it comes down to trading one of them, I hope it's Bledsoe. I'm 95% positive Dragic wants to be in Phx and would re-sign next offseason. No one knows for sure if Bledsoe wants to be there or not or even really cares. Seems to care first and foremost about getting the most money possible.

Im not sure hes worth Bledsoe though. I like Monroe more but I also like the defensive potential of Bledsoe/KCP/Smith/Drummond. That's a great core to build around.
