I truly believe that Zaza and Delfino enjoy being in Milwaukee. If they did not like Milwaukee, suffice to make Monta Ellis did: refuse the lowest tender of Bucks and sign for less to other teams.

The dream of these guys is simply to achieve a high level to defend their national teams and reach the NBA. You do not see Marc Gasol forcing situations to leave Memphis and go to bigger cities/contenders like Howard did with Orlando.

I 100% agree. Those were great questions and great answers too. Kidd comes off as very cerebral and understanding of the importance of developing our young players. Him wanting to play Giannis at point is enormous as well as him emphasizing fastbreak basketball off of defensive rebounds. That's what made him so dangerous a decade ago in NJ and was the reason behind the Nets making back-to-back NBA Finals. He was an excellent rebounder for a point guard (big reason for all those triple doubles) and he would get the ball and just go. At his prime many considered Kidd to be the fastest NBA player with the ball in his hands. Not the fastest overall - that was Iverson, but the fastest leading the break. Based on how he played and what he said in that interview, he could very well be the perfect coach for Giannis and Jabari in terms of developing their already innate ability to thrive in the open court.

u know as much of this board hates mayo , kidd is right he can score and he is a great shooter.As much as this board wants him gone I can see mayo having a 17/19 ppgs.this year and really having a good year.

I don't see him getting that many ppg unless he plays 40 minutes which he better not be, but 10-14pts on about 24 minutes per night is attainable. Despite his weight his 3pt shoot was still pretty solid he just never drove to the basket or played any D. Hopefully we buyout Delfino by the end of camp and give Zaza away, and give Ersan and Mayo just enough minutes to make them tradable by January.

That little bit on OJ reminds me why I didn't hate the contract we gave him at the time. Hopefully Kidd can get through to him. He's still young, and in the very least, if he plays well, we can get decent value back for him in a trade.

Are all better options. I'd easily start Middleton at SG over Mayo. Just as good if not better floor spacer who doesn't require high usage, and a more capable/willing defender.

If Wolters' jumper is still borked, we'd be stuck with Knight starting at PG again. I like Middleton quite a bit, but an in shape Mayo brings much more ball handling ability to the table. With how Kidd runs his offense, that could put Mayo over the top when pairing him with Knight. Having a SG who can handle the ball a little bit would also take some pressure off of Giannis and Parker, particularly early in the season.

I'm not a Mayo fan, but our guards are nothing special and the fit may be right with the starting lineup. Of course, he could still be checked out mentally, so who knows, but I certainly wouldn't write him off completely with this collection of guards if he's actually back in shape.

With Giannis and Parker, we have way above average ball handling at those positions. I don't see the need for a ball handler at SG. I'll take the low usage sniper.
