Mario and Norris - the PG conundrum.
One of Ira's tweets go me to thinking about our PG position and I wondered what you thought about it.
Forget Bledsoe for now - he seems a pipedream.
For this poll it's thinking about Mario, Norris, Shabazz and other Vet mins like Nelson.
So what are your thoughts?

With James gone, we need someone with series playmaking skills. No idea who that is tho

I guess we are going with a PG rotation of Chalmers/Cole/Napier. If Chalmers comes back I feel that we might move Cole for some cap space. All I know is it's going to be annoying Chalmers make boneheaded plays all season long. Hopefully he can stay in his lane next season and we rely on Wade/McRoberts for more of our playmaking.

Re: Mario and Norris - the PG conundrum.
With LeBron gone we need a true PG who can be the primary ball handler, effectively drive into the paint and distribute the ball. There is not a PG like that on our roster. That is why I believe Bledsoe would have the most significant impact on our roster.
Jammer Nelson and Mo Williams are not the answer but would be a significant upgrade of that position.

Re: Mario and Norris - the PG conundrum.
I'd much rather we got Jameer Nelson than retained Chalmers.
He's not perfect, but he can shoot, and his passing is still better than Chalmers.
I don't see the point of keeping Rio and Cole whilst having Napier. There's not enough variation.

There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.

Me neither, but it's not Chalmers, Cole, or Napier for sure. I didn't follow Nelson last year (who did!?!?) but he seems like a chunky shoot first PG with the career average of whopping 5.4 APG... he might be a slight upgrade over Chalmers, but with his age and injuries (knee?) it's hard to say.
Sad.

I honestly rather let Chalmers walk for that very reason. I'm done with Chalmers and his bone-head plays and the fact that LeBron is gone will mean we'll see even MORE bonehead plays by Rio.
Wade at this stage in his career is still the best playmaker on the team, along side McBob. Let them make the plays and keep Chalmers off the ball less.

Re: Mario and Norris - the PG conundrum.
If we cant get Bledsoe, then leave it that way because :
- Rio and Cole know the team very well and we have no time to waste as every game is counting, we cant coast anymore !
- We have 3 differents point guard style, they are good against a certain type of player so it's good to have 3 different style. Last year, we missed another point guard and please with Tony Douglas LOL to bring us wether on offense or/and defense
- We could still trade one in February
i dont want to sign Jameer Nelson unless for the vet mini and we trade Rio or Cole

Could chalmers be worth signing for a trade for a bigman. It'll mean we can get a higher priced big with maybe more upside?

Agree with the continuity idea and Mario was good at times but is he worth the money?
Surely if we're going with Cole and Shabazz we should get an old head to play with them.

Has Ramon Sessions had any interest in FA?
If not could he be had for vet min?

He has no balls anymore courtesy of Wade

As far as I remember watching Nelson back when Magic still had DH12, he really didn't strike me as a very good play maker. Most of the creativity came from Turkoglu. Granted, it was a few years ago, but still.

would rather keep both instead of getting jameer nelson. they are already familiar with the heat and are much younger. who knows how chalmers plays now that his bully lebron is gone

Doubt it, a team would really have to buy into that "championship, veteran PG". But it's unlikely due to how centers are more in demand.

Probably the same way he played in the two years before LeBron was here... with the same boneheaded plays he's made since. The only exception is that, then, you figured it was just the growing pains of a young player rather than evidence of his high WTF quotient. Chalmers needs to go.

For that baseline drive and fouling a guy making a 3

Every team has a position they suck at
That's our PG position
Nelson? Please waste of roster spot
