CP3 Veto still having that ripple effect in 2014...
Doesn't everything still point to that veto? Everything that has happened...including what has happened in this free agency is a direct result of that stern veto.
No stern veto = no Nash pickup.
Cp3 \ Kobe duo means FAs and vets come here for cheap...not to the clippers....
Without that veto we have more assets and more reasons for big free agents to come here...

It does and it sucks. But we really need to move on and not suffer through bringing this topic up anymore. What if and could have happened situations are endless. We might as well live in the present from now on and hope that we will get to the promise land again in the near future.

Gotta move on from that stain in Lakers history fellas. Nothing we can do about it now.

It's an absolute fact that our team would have a core of Paul-Bryant-Howard if Stern didn't veto that trade. That veto set this franchise back almost 10 years. What's most pathetic about that nixed trade is that Dan Gilbert was the one who who cried to the Comish because he was jealous of these super teams forming. 3 years later, his team has LeBron, Wiggins, and Irving---how laughable.
Props to Mitch for not going down without a fight though...still acquired Howard and Nash while keeping Pau after Paul was blocked from the Lakers. We were screwed either way, but kudos to Mitch for trying to field a championship team after that mess.

Yes it does, and even thought we as fans have let it go it's still affecting us on that court.KobeKenobi wrote:Doesn't everything still point to that veto? Everything that has happened...including what has happened in this free agency is a direct result of that stern veto.

This year some reporter wrote a great piece on how that affected not only the Lakers but about half the NBA. He pointed out in detail how it went. I'm gonna see if I can find it again and post it, it's a good read.

The dark ages of the Lakers have arrived once again. I'm just glad we don't have Smush Parker this time around... Always a silver lining, guys.
