Getting a guy like Delmon Young who was sitting on his ass for most of the winter would have done wonders for this team. But you know, it was more important to protect Moises Sierra and Esmil Rogers from waivers.

the 0-9 road trip in '09 (with a -30 run differential) is worse than any 2-8 trip imo. one that was capped off with a reimold walk-off in extras (in a game where we took a 2 run lead in the top of the 11th)

Bautista outplays his contract by more than $70 million over the next four seasons (2013-2016).

Yeah, there have been a few.

I feel shame. I thought I could bring the luck necessary to win a series in Tampa.

All-Star break….when are Lawrie, EE back?
That's what she said.

Encarnacion is eligible to come off the DL on the 22nd; Lawrie's return is probably going to be in the same timeframe, possibly a week later.

Really, the goal right now is just to survive July within reach of the Orioles/Yankees/Wild Card contenders. That series at Yankee Stadium is going to suck, but with a pile of games against the devastated Rangers, the Astros, and the possibly-soon-to-be-stripped Red Sox, we might be able to limp along sufficiently to stay in touch, and hopefully fill a few holes before the deadline. Do that and it ain't over yet.

Helps that the O's have the A's, Angels, M's and Angels for the rest of the month.

I'm not sold on the O's; there are a lot of chickens waiting patiently by the mesh door. Then again, I'm also not sold on the Jays, the Yankees, the Rays or Sox, and one of them has to win the division.

I haven't believed in the O's rotation all year. I think there's a significant chance it will implode at any moment. Immediately after the all-star break would be a most excellent time for that to happen.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Watch us keep not believing them all the way to the point where they make the playoffs, just like the last time we didn't believe in them.

The Jays are closer to the 2nd Wild Card (2.5 games back of Seattle) than they are to the East (4 games back). Ultimately they just have to start winning games at a good clip and let the chips fall where they may. Baltimore has a tough 17 game stretch coming back, while over that same span the Jays face nothing but last place teams (Boston, Texas, Houston) and the Yankees. If they win the games they are supposed to win, then they should have a shot at either the East or the WC, but as is, they will need a lot of help and likely without reinforcements.

AA sending a message to the fanbase that this team is not going to stand pat with all the injuries. He has acquired Brett Wallace from the Orioles.

Yeah...if there's one team that can defy all statistical indicators and logic itself, it's the O's.

I am surprised this guy has 295 followers. I cannot believe he actually has that many people following him. Maybe they are all his friends and relatives (LOL). Marty York and quality insight do not go hand in hand. Guy and his "sources", which are his own imagination, was one of the worst guys in Toronto that i had the misfortune to listen to. He co-hosted a late night show on the Fan 590 over a decade ago, came on Sportsnet, and all of his fantasy "sources" and insider info, was a load of baloney. No wonder he has been fired so many times. Cannot believe anyone hired this clown in the first place. Never was a fan of his, and looking at his tweets, i cannot believe anyone would follow this goof.

So his "sources say"
that Gibbons will be fired and Alomar will be filling in on an interim basis in 48 hours (LOOOOOL). Good one Marty York. My 12 year old relative has better sources that Marty York. I do not want to hear this guy's name again. His tweets are tweets that a middle school kid would be writing. Reading them are painful.

In his subsequent tweets he totally proved he has no credibility (that is if you weren't already aware of him and knew this already). He claimed that because Hutch is 6-8 with a 4.16 ERA he's junk and is destined to be a journeyman reliever. Also claimed that R.A. is overpaid. I don't disagree with anyone that says that R.A. isn't the ace he was with the Mets. However, his contract is in line with the value he provides.
