Pistons signed DJ Augustin

Post#1 » by Kilo » Mon Jul 14, 2014 1:26 am

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA 49s

Free agent guard DJ Augustin has reached a two-year, $6 million deal with the Detroit Pistons, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

Hmmm. 3M per season, the go-to two year deal Stan prefers. Does this mean Siva is gone? Wouldn't somehow getting rid of Bynum make more sense?

$5M left to spend. I bet we don't at this stage.

I hope he steals the job from Jennings so much.

Martin, Gray, and now Augustine. Talk about marquee FAs.

He's a better fit than Bynum, who hopefully gets moved soon. SVG is real serious about these shooters

I'm inclined to agree. This feels like a last signing, unless SVG decides he's interested in someone like Wesley Johnson or Jordan Hamilton.

I watched a lot of him last year and i like him.
3 mil per is pretty solid.

Bynum needs to be traded for sure.

Wouldn't be surprised if he gives Jennings a run for the starting spot.

Jennings / Augustine / Bynum / Siva / Dinwiddie

Hopefully we can add a GOOD PG with our remaining $5 million in cap space....

One/two of these guys need to be moved, and fast.

I like the Augstin signing a lot. Also, slightly off topic, but...

Also seems serious about essentially red shirting Dinwiddie.

Since neither Bynum nor Siva can shoot, I don't expect them back.

Bynum/Datome/2nd to Philly for a TPE would be nice right about now.

Trade gotta be on the way. Jennings, bynum, augustin, siva, dinwiddie are all on the roster right now. None of which can play the 2 i wouldnt think.

Dinwiddie has the size to play the 2.

But I think SVG likes him more at the 1.

A trade must be on the horizon....or Piston Powered was correct and Siva's deal isn't guaranteed yet

If we keep Siva, Dinwiddie & Mitchell in the DLeague all year do they count against our 15?

I'm happy with this. Thomas didn't want to come here and Bledsoe was a pipe dream. DJ can push Jennings, can shoot and it's a cheap deal. Given some signings this offseason this feels like a steal.

Yep. NBA signed players assigned to the D-League count against the roster limit of 15.
