Pat went for the HR but couldn't get it done this time;LBJ & Melo

But unlike other teams When they get hit in the nuts, the best in the business just keeps going.

Deng isn't LBJ and no one will mistake the 2 but Deng is a solid player that fills in the role while getting him at a great deal! Deng vs. Riley and Riley won! He got the short term relief and long term looking bright.

McRoberts, Granger will give us some depth and a bit more scoring than we had last year. Both on solid deals for the future.

Bird, UD, Mario and Wade will bring back a lot of chemistry and keep us a float.

Riley did a great Job of keeping us from drowning with giving up to much. In 2016 the Heat will be major players one more time and with Riley I like our chance. We aren't the Dynasty we were but we're back to the 45-50 win team that fights and has a chance to beat anyone outside of a few West teams. I'll take this team to beat Pacers and fight the Cavs

We need your ban hammer.

:o he was scheduled to make like $2M before he opted out. Big pay raise for him. Guessing we won't bring any other big unless it's someone like Oden then. Let's see what else Riley will do.

denver was paying him 4.5mil the past 2 seasons, thats why we payed him so little. 2/10 is ver fair

Seems fair. That guy was one of the key pieces of the 27 game streak. When healthy in the playoffs, guy is a PER monster. Many teams were salivating with the prospect of having him.

Ahh that is true. I agree it is fair, especially in todays market. McBob and him will be making around the same this year.

I'm still pulling for Wade to take the veteran minimum so we can get Monroe;)

5mil?

Meh our roster seems set anyway. It's true we didn't pay Birdman for what his going rate was because he had to revive his career and we got him discounted.

Edit oh right Denver was paying him around that much too, but it's ova

It's the length that matters. Eyes on 2016!

The Cap limit for this season is $63m.

Players we effectively have under contract now:
Bosh: $20.6m
Cole: $2m
Napier: $1m
Deng: $10m
McRoberts: $5.3m
Granger: $2.1m
Birdman : $5m
------------------------
Total: $45m

Players we could sign and will likely cost more than the minimum:

Wade: ???
Haslem: ???
Chalmers: ???
-------------------------
Total: ???

Roster cap hold: $4.5m (the league automatically adds what the remaining players would cost you if they were all signed for the minimum)

Total salary so far: ~$49.5m

Which means we now have a total of ~$13.5m of cap space (but for every player we sign $0.5m goes off the roster cap hold and is added to the cap space, so if we sign Wade for $10m we will have $3m remaining of the cap space not $2.5m) PLUS a ~$2m exception we can use to sign a free agent.

I imagine we're going to trade Cole at some point this season, right? Or will we be rolling with three point guards?

2 yrs for Granger, Mario, Deng, Birdman & I'm guessing we give UD a nice deal for 2 yrs as well.

Outside of McBob and Bosh, Riley is looking to make this team a solid vet team that competes and then 2016, he can do it one more time. I like it!

Bosh-Birdman-Oden
McBob-UD
Deng-Granger-
Wade-Ennis
Mario-Cole-Shabazz

Maybe Beasley? Hamilton?

i believe we can go up to 81 million to resign players who were already on our team. so that should take care of haslem, chalmers and wade

woah...woah...woah...hold up, have you guys seen the 2016 free agent class?? Who exactly do you guys think we are in play for, outside of Durrant and Lebron their isn't a name worth splurging on or making a difference. Unless...Durrant pulls a Lebron, it this really what we are lining ourselves up for?

I like it! I'd be down to bring back Beasley, Oden, and Hamilton and possibly a decent SG for cheap.

Can't believe Deng was almost averaging 40 mins a game under Thibs.

He'll be fine here.

Good luck Gasol.

So still only around 29m locked up for 2016. If the cap does take a big leap like it's supposed to we could have 50m in cap space. Wow.

With that kind of money given to Birdman, could we potentially see him working on his fitness this offseason and becoming our starting center for 25 minutes to 30 minutes per game?

Chalmers / Nappier / Cole
Wade / Granger
Deng / Marion / Ennis
Bosh / McRoberts / Hamilton
Anderson / Oden

Something like that would be pretty nice, still need to fill a couple of spots.

Also, if Boozer gets amnestied, I think he would be ours to lose (given his Miami and Deng ties).

Aldridge, Love, Lillard, Durant, Howard could all be available in 2016...pretty sure we could entice at least one of those guys...hell if Cleveland implodes we might even be in play for #6...

Anyhow, I think Pat is going to hold on to Cole till the trade deadline. Napier is going to need training wheels and Cole has been in our system and has championship experience, that means a lot to this team...
