It's all on Wade IMO. He will make or break the Heat's chances to return to the Finals.

As Dan LeBatard said, Wade's entire career has been about overcoming doubt. This time should be no different.

WIth what just went down, he should be extremely motivated. I think he will surprise a lot of people this season.

Capable sure but Bosh said CB4 not coming back in a phone interview today :(

Yeah because he believes he's a much better player now not because he believes he's no longer capable.

Maroko wrote:The Cap limit for this season is $63m.

Players we effectively have under contract now:
Bosh: $20.6m
Cole: $2m
Napier: $1m
Deng: $10m
McRoberts: $5.3m
Granger: $2.1m
Birdman : $5m
------------------------
Total: $45m

Players we could sign and will likely cost more than the minimum:

Wade: ???
Haslem: ???
Chalmers: ???
-------------------------
Total: ???

Roster cap hold: $4.5m (the league automatically adds what the remaining players would cost you if they were all signed for the minimum)

Total salary so far: ~$49.5m

Which means we now have a total of ~$13.5m of cap space (but for every player we sign $0.5m goes off the roster cap hold and is added to the cap space, so if we sign Wade for $10m we will have $3m remaining of the cap space not $2.5m) PLUS a ~$2m exception we can use to sign a free agent.

Granger should not count with Heat's cap space because he will be signed after Miami use all its cap space.

Bosh: $20.6m
Cole: $2m
Napier: $1m
Deng: $10m
McRoberts: $5.3m
Birdman : $5m ?????
Chalmers : $4m (according to ESPN)
------------------------
Total: $47.9m

since thats only 7 players sign and 13 players is the minimum in a roster, then the roster cap holds is at $2.54m (5 x $507,336)

Total of $50.44m. . . There is still $12.56m to sign Wade. (Big pay cut, Bosh should give the Heat a discount to compensate Wade)

Then use the MLE ($2.732m) to sign Haslem. Then bi-annual to Granger after Heat use all of its cap space.

Haha, I have a soft spot for the guy. He always gave 100% effort and hustle. But remembering "Stone hands" fumble passes and miss layups....

I'll take him for the vet min though, to be bench depth at the 14 or 15 spot on the roster.

I think the 3rd year was why we didn't get Gasol. Or do yall think we never wanted him too much in the first place?

Bringing in Jermaine O'Neal?

Bringing Joel back?

Lol I am laughing out loud. Cause we are waiting for 2016 don't mean we gotta recreate the 2009-2010 roster...

Man, I'm curious how these numbers work out. Wade must have taken a ridiculous discount. Thought he would resign for a 2 year deal on maybe like $37 or 38mil. Maybe Bosh didn't sign for the full 118 million?

$915,243

Edit: Also didn't even notice the posts calling for JO availability. I would rather have Chalmers play center, lol.

@AlbertRandom1: Remember: Despite the rumored $10M contract, Birdman would only eat up $915,243 of cap space this year.

dude i was just about to say that. he needs to get down to around 210 and he will be deadly again. i feel like athletically while hes not 2009 wade he is still one of the quickest guys in the league. his first step is still crazy fast and he can still get up there (although he was never know as a monstrous leaper). wade averaged 19ppg last season lets be fair to him that is still high tier offensive numbers especially while shooting 50+%

lets hope he learned from ray allen how to take care of his self in later years and also improve that 3 ball/FT
it would be amazing to see wade play into his late 30s like ray

im just excited to see chris and wade with the mindset that lebron wont be here any more to pickup the slack, do most of the work
