Summer League 2: Hornets vs Kings 6PM EST NBATV

I didn't see the first SL game, so this was my first good look at Vonleh, and I'm pretty excited about the kid.

He just looks the part of a future superstar to me. He's really solidly built to be just 18, and for a big, it's freaky how natural he is with the ball from having been a guard until his growth spurt. He flashed some range with that 3, and he seems to have good rebounding instincts.

He's also in a great situation to hone his post moves with Ewing and Big Al around.

In a couple of years, we're going to be thanking our lucky stars that we got the Detroit pick for this draft and that Vonleh fell.

PJ was a mixed bag. He's got a long way to go on defense. And I didn't like his attitude on a couple of plays. He slammed the ball down once and should have gotten a technical IMO. But man, when he's hitting, he's going to be one of those Steph Curry type guys that will get the building rocking and that the other team won't be able to stop. He'll just step back a little and let the next one fly. And we *really* need that.

I can already tell we're going to see a lot of patience on this board with Noah, and a lot of nitpicking with P.J. Some things like, well Noah missed but his form was good. Well P.J. scored but his form sucks. I guess part of being a fan is having a bias, I just wish people admitted their bias more often.

Me? If anything Free Agency is teaching me, it's try to be attracted to the team over one player.

Maybe if Hairston wouldn't give the tombstone piledriver to highschoolers id have more patience

I'll take that over our usual of three guys passing up open shots, forcing Kemba to jack up something wild with .5 seconds left on the shot clock.

If PJ's on the floor with Big Al, surely he'll learn that he'll get a wide open shot if he can develop some patience.

I don't know if it will take Noah awhile to develop offensively or maybe when he plays with some of our regulars they will make him look better.

I think I could make Noah look better out there than Mickey McConnell.
I'm not worried about Vonleh at all right now. He is such a solid unit for being so young. He has every chance to be a really special player in the league.

Ricky Davis has earned consideration for that honor as well.

It's only summer league, but I'm a little worried he D-League may have instilled some bad habits in Hairston. That place is a chucker's paradise. Nonetheless, I liked what I saw. If he's not hitting those shots Clifford can yank him for Neal, and if he's a perpetual offender a few DNPCDs might help.

Josh Davis 6'8" 215 F San Diego State...This guy is a reincarnation of Dennis Rodman...12-16 Rebounds a game 2 steal
good defender, needs free throw work, but definetly a keeper.
Mickey McConnell 6' 190lbs St Marys...This guys a smart PG and at 25 has been around the block. The turnovers he
has made in the first two games were not his fault,as his teammates were not where they were suppose to be.He's got all the PG Tools. 3rd PG?

get rid of him.Trade him for second round pick ASAP
or maybe a player we might use like Henry Sims C
from Philly..Otherwise this guy will spend more time
in court than on the court.

I'm not worried about PJ's crappy shot selection. He's one of those players that need a heat check every now and then. If he's on, look out. If he's not, Clifford won't let him keep firing.

I'm way more concerned about his body language on the court. Shaking his head, slamming the ball, giving teammates bad looks, and just a general negativity.

You can coach him out of bad shot selection (to an extent). Much harder to change his attitude.
