Guys you are telling that Markieff is better than stretch 4s that people suggested but Channing Frye wasn't better than Markieff either and he was our starter.

He's still only 24. I wonder if McDonough would take a flier on him. He's 6'11 and plays PF. Hhm....

Oh it definitely crossed my mind. Never too late - especially at that age.

How many people had given up on Gerald Green? He jumped around even more than Randolph and had similar, if not worse, numbers. I'm not saying lightning will strike twice (hell, we don't even know if Green will have a good year this year), but I think it's worth a try if he'd sign for cheap.

We gotta drop it with the Kevin Love fantasies on this board, he's not coming here via trade. Minnesota is turning down better offers from CLE and GS. There's no reason to gut the team for one guy - recent NBA history shows us this is a bad idea.

At this point, shouldn't we be rooting for him NOT to get moved?

If MIN makes the playoffs, we get their pick. It's obvious that this is more likely if Love is on their team.

If Love enters free agency, we'll be one of the few teams that have the cap space and the talent to pitch him a competitive offer next year. In the mean time, we can see what guys like Green and the Mo Bros are really made of.

Why are fans of this team so intent on getting rid of the assets we have?

Because our assets are 25 pointguards and we need bigs.

Looked up the numbers for both Thad / Kieff and you are correct. Per 36 it looks like this:

Last Season:

Markieff 18/8
Thad 18/6

Then you factor in age and pay. Kieff wins. I don't see any available FAs on the list (viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1335143) that are capable of significantly outperforming Kieff either. Might as well sign a back up 4 and call it a day unless Love can be attained somehow.

Kieff was about as good this past year as Thad was the previous three years. This last year Kieff was better, but Thad was playing with a bunch of D leaguers for much of the year.

Thad might really excel under Hornacek as Morris did though, so who knows? Wouldn't hurt since we have the cap space if we could get him not giving up much, but I'm not sure it would be worth a first round pick. I wouldn't swap Kieff for him though. No real reason to. Kieff may take another major step this year and we could have him locked up for the next five years if we want.

The suns FO hasn't given up on Love from reports..., so it's only natural fans talk about him still.
And Cavs and Warriors current offers don't trump suns...

Klay and Wiggins are off limits From those teams as per latest rumors.

I don't know if the Cleveland and GS offers are better. I'd MUCH rather have Dragic and the twins than Lee and Barnes or the pu pu platter Cleveland is offering. Surprised you think those are better offers.

I'd rather have Dragic and the twins than Love. I don't think our team is better with Love minus those guys. Especially when he could leave and Bledsoe could get hurt. Could be a disaster.

Is Bledsoe/Green/Tucker/Love/Plumlee really better than Rubio/Martin/Brewer or Budinger/Love/Pekovic or Dieng?

I can't see Love thinking his situation was much better at all.

One of those teams will bend and Minnesota isnt interested in any of our assets and we shouldnt give them up without him willing to sign an extension which at this point he wont do. So time to move on. If Lebron tells Cleveland I want to play with Love they are trading Wiggins. Wiggins is going to be a good player but he is @ least 3 years away from being close to what Kevin Love is today. That trade makes a lot of sense for both teams.

Minnesota needs to ask for Wiggins and Thompson. If Cleveland wants to win a championship asap, they have to do it. If not, how can LeBron be happy? He already went through this with them once. The only way I don't see it happening (at least Wiggins going in a trade) is if Cleveland has the best record in the league mid season and Wiggins is just playing phenomenally.

Exactly. As long as that's the case, we're still in the running.

Did anyone read about Baron Davis making a comeback?

I think he'd be a nice fit here. He's a vet who's been through a lot and can teach these young kids a thing or two.

Dragic + twins is more value than the offer currently on the table from the Cavs, IMO. It seems fairly apparent we're trying to work a third team in in order to turn that value into something the Wolves would be interested in. If we could turn Dragic into a player near his caliber that plays a wing position, the Wolves might be interested.

It really isn't very wise of them to keep waiting to pull the trigger. He can't re-sign in February. A team with whom he won't re-sign would undoubtedly want to get him for at least the whole year in order to give themselves a chance to win. If Flip is too stubborn he'll end up with nothing.
