Nets Re-Sign Alan Anderson
Nets resign Alan Anderson for 2 years.
I think he is a very important signing. Should be the starting SG next year.

Lopez - KG
Plumlee - Mirza - C Jefferson
Johnson - AK47 - Karasev
Anderson - Bogdanovic - M Brown
D Will - Jack - Teague - Gutz
Supposedly the Nets are going with Plumlee at PF and KG as the backup center.
Im not sure how the Nets plan on using Bogdanovic but he doesnt look like he is going to get minutes at SF.
I like the way the team is shaping up.

Re: Nets Resign Alan Anderson
Second year is a player option. I really think that by next off season the Nets will have the flexibility to do sign and trades. Next year Andrei and KG come off the books with the possibility of Brook and Anderson opting out. Right now, the most important one is Brook. I am hoping he opts out after this season. But this signing is more than enough evidence, as well as the other ones that the Nets will not add extra salary going into the 2016 off season.

Re: Nets Resign Alan Anderson
Definitely excited to resign him and I agree he should start. He played well with the starters last year and I don't like the idea of Jack starting next to DWill or starting Karasev or Brown who are unproven.
We've all gotten mad at him, or most of us as he does make some boneheaded plays, but for a guy whose making the vet minimum it's hard to ask for more, the Shaun Livingstons are the exception. He has a role on this team and I welcome him back with open arms. I'd be ecstatic if he get his 3 point % up to what it was in 2011-12 and become a true 3+D guy.

Is it true that Plumlee is going to start at PF? I think I'd like that more than AK at PF

Nice signing. I would start him in a line up of
D. Will / AA / JJ / AK or Tele / Lopez

If he starts at shooting guard I might stop being a Nets fan. It's good that he's back but for the love of god we need to stop treating this guy as if he's an above-average role player because he really isn't.

He's far from a knockdown shooter or an efficient scorer, he defends well which is why I'm happy he's back but come on...

Anderson is limited but I like his fire. He is the type of role player this team needs.

I hate the idea of using Plumlee at the 4. He has ugly jump shot and is best around the rim. He has great hands, a soft touch and is super athletic. Brook is best back to the basket and in the post. He has the range to step out and knock down some longer 2's but those are less efficient shots. I really cringe when he takes the long 2's as he a good post game which should be his bread and butter. These guys will now be largely operating in the same area. I like the idea of AK next to Brook as VC4P mentioned. He might not be the shooter to space the floor, but he's great at cutting, getting to the open spot and has a high IQ. And then would prefer Mirza next to Plumlee when Brook is resting.
And I hate the idea/news of Plumlee working on his jumper to space the floor for Brook. He should work on improving what he does best and not be getting away from it.

Stop and think for a minute... Anderson is barely an average role player. Should he really be starting for any team in the league?

He's not exactly wrong, but the Nets needed a 2-guard, one who can play well off the bench as well as do spot starts. He's probably one of the better ones left that would take the minimum.

Id rather AK then Plumlee but Net Income said today that they want to play Plumlee at the 4. He has well placed sources (Bobby Marks). If he is floating that out there then I think it's true. (DEAR MODS: THIS IS RELEVANT TO THE THREAD)
Don't really care. Enough with NetsDaily as a source.

There's more than one side if the ball, he's an above average defender. I already said I hope gets his 3 point shot back to where it was in 2012-13. But he fits nicely with the starters. Anderson can guard the 2 or 3 whichever is the tougher matchup which allows Joe to work less on D, a good thing since he and Lopez are the focal points of the offense. We also have shooters in Joe and Deron and really need a defender.
If he shouldn't start then who should Jack, Karasev or Brown? He has to be the best option.

Id much rather have a guy who plays above his talent level then someone who is super talented but has no confidence. The guy embraces his role as primary wing defender. He can get out of control offensively but I can live with that. You have to give the dog a bone every once in a while.
He is the only proven defender we have in the backcourt. This was a very good signing for minimum cost.

Either Jack at the two and Johnson at the three, or Johnson at the two and Kirilenko at the three (to help the the team's rebounding woes).
If Bogdanovic is ready he could theoretically start at either the two or three, but I think there's going to be an adjustment period with him and his lack of defense might be a big issue early on.

I added a small blurb to my last post. I'm not disagreeing with the signing at all and it had to be made, but like Bro Johnson I'm not as excited for it.

Johnson is much more a 3 at this stage of his career. Jack is an instant offense/spark plug that's good to have off the bench. I think we'd really struggle defensively with a lineup of DWill/Jack/Johnson

Deron/Jack
Anderson/Bogs/Brown
Johnson/Kirilenko/Kerasev
Plumlee/Teletovic
Lopez/KG
That starting five is the best Memphis-esque lineup we can put on the floor. Lopez can space the floor with his range. Mason shouldn't have to totally become an offensive force to be at PF.

I know we hate doing this, but you have to add Teague in there even before Brown simply because his contract is guaranteed.
