Do you think the Raptors made a mistake by bringing Caboclo over this season? Should he have stayed in Braziled and played 1 more season before the Raptors brought him over?

Your second question seems to have been answered. Majority seem to be of the opinion that it was not a mistake to bring him to surround him by NBA level development staff in NBA level facilities.

Your first question remains unanswered... are there examples of such raw rookies being drafted and given a roster spot to develop as the 14/15th man? How successful were teams at developing those players? Hoping someone answers this.

He signed his contract. He's not going to Europe no matter what. He's contracted to play this year, so Raps or D League.

The problem with Europe or brazil is that the players will be used to win games rather than maximizing their development. Jonas' confidence and skill may have developed, but there was no focus on improving his body so that he can be dominant in the future. Last year he gained a lot of weight and it seemed like it took him a while to get used to it. So I think having Caboclo here ensures that he fills out properly. He may not play a lot of games but he'll get experience in practice and even better, he'll start developing chemistry with our key cogs early. I think he may also see some time in the d league

We have depth @ SF spot now so it is cool for him to be practicing with team some and some with D League.

With 4 pages and no example I think there are no examples of this.

Bruno reminds me of a potentially better scoring prime Tayshaun Prince.

He's just not as quick as Durant was/is.

The real guy to look out for is actually Giannis...every time I watch footage of that kid playing I feel Masai's immense pain for missing out. I'm betting right now that he will be better than Kawhi and George. That kid has INSANE potential, I really believe once LeBron fades that Giannis has the potential to challenge KD for the throne, flame away but just watch. Damn I wish we got the Greek Freak.

Johnson was a skinny forward, Bruno is a skinny wing. Different learning curves and required physical development. If KD could and does play as the slim reaper, Bruno should as well next season.

After the first game I was a 4 star.

After 3 games I'm a 2 star.

Kid definitely had potential, but he's certainly a project. He'll hit an occasional 3, but his court awareness is brutal, as is his overall understanding of a basketball floor game.

I wish him the best, but he looked brutal the last game, and sub par the game before. His first game he looked great.

And maybe at the end of the day it's not the ideal situation to judge his play. This entire Raptors Summer League squad might be one of the worst basketball teams ever assembled, of all time.

He kinda reminds me of that but his ability to bring the ball up the court and pass seems better although Tracy may have been the better scorer. Add to that he's even longer and I think he's going to show a greater commitment to defence. I'm being repetitive but Giannis really does have insane potential imo.

Keep reminding yourself that he's only 18. I'm not going to expect anything huge until he's 22.

Bebe was howling by time he finished story about how Bruno has to get used to being dunked on. "NBA is worse than summer league man …

“He's out of luck because he plays on same team as Terrence Ross and DeMar DeRozan, be careful in practice, everyone will dunk on you."

Ryan Wolstat @WolstatSun about 24 minutes ago
Bebe to Bruno after the dunk? "Keep playing, think about next play. If you're thinking about last play, you are giving up. Never give up."

That dunk on him today will be the opening scene in the Raptors 2018 Championship DVD after Bruno becomes FMVP.

Good stuff... Bruno will be fine people. I expected over-reaction if he did well, or if he shows issues... there's no in between around these parts. It's either too much love, or too much hate.

Bruno is basically starting to play basketball, like everyone says - he's RAW. He hasn't played too much organized basketball and he's still only 18. He started playing like 4-5 years ago. Once he understands the game, the culture, and the language, he'll be much better.

Right now, he shows a nice shooting touch that's for sure. He also shows flashes of upside defensively but he gets lost a lot. Offensively, he's shown flashes of driving ability and finishing over defenders... he also has a ton of confidence which is great. He turns the ball over because he doesn't as much as he will... give him time to grow. He's not going to be in our rotation, he's going to be practising and in the weight room most of next season. He'll get time to play in the D-League.
