With Lance Stephenson appearing unlikely due to our lack of serious interest, what trade options are available at SG that you guys would like?

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2014-15
Well I was just typing out a post that basically assumed this same thing. I think Cho is just keeping the cap space open until he finds a trade he likes.
Also I think we're going to bid on Boozer like I mentioned previously.

Waiters. I don't think the Wolves like him enough to be the centerpiece and I don't think Cleveland will drop their pursuit of Love with only a 2 year window with/commitment from Lebron. The Cavs have to make it happen now and we have the assets to acquire Waiters.

100% depends on the pick. Bennett's a bad contract with the ability to improve to neutral. I'm not drawing any conclusions whatsoever from the SL

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2014-15
The only shooting guard I'd like to trade for that we could realistically get is Waiters. Everyone else is either too limited, injury prone, or not enough of an upgrade over Henderson to be worth it.
edit: I wouldn't give up much for him though because as of now he is a mediocre shooter and too turnover prone for my liking.

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2014-15
I wouldn't mind Dion Waiters via trade, but I still view him as a backup combo guard/6th man. I would retain CDR and start him at SG, with Waiters being his immediate backup. Waiters would average around 30 minutes per game, spelling sporadic minutes at PG, and CDR would receive about 23 minutes per game

The fact that Josh Smith his a reputation that precede him as a airhead, I doubt that Cho is interested. I like Smith, but like aforementioned, I doubt he even exist in Cho's computer brain

These would all have to happen for this to be okay:
1) We miss out on Lance and he signs a long deal with another team.
2) Detroit is giving back a loosely protected 1st as incentive.
3) Detroit doesn't make a move that locks them into the playoff race.
4) We sign/trade for plenty of floor spacers and Clifford tells Smith to keep his ass in the paint or he's benched.
5) We have three-point shooters starting at SG instead of Hendo.
6) Clifford lets Smith play with the 2nd unit often, so that we can utilize his ability to run the floor.
7) Zeller is traded for a good wing shooter/scorer
So in other words, not happening

I could see us ending up with Kevin Martin from Minnie to give us the 3pt shooting they're after.
Wouldn't think he would cost a great deal either.

Our defense would take a good sized hit, but hes a very underrated player. Plus I love me some Western Carolina players

No doubt about that but I do think that Williams was a Coach Clifford kind of signing. He wanted a vet to bring the young pup PF's along.
You mean in a sort of "scared straight" capacity? To scare Zeller and Vonleh into not becoming an underwhelming, journeyman, former high draft pick?

Im pretty sure Ewing is doing that as we speak. At least in regards to Zeller.

What about Eric Gordon. There is talk of him becoming a 6th man. He has a monster 2 year deal at 15.5 million a year. Wonder if we could do Henderson 2015 First (protected of course) for Gordon.
Keeps our cap situation in check. He is a 39 percent 3 point shooter last year and a pure scoring option.
Likely a high teens pick as well.

We do not need to give up assets for Gordon. Henderson and Neal should do it. But it would be scary to go into the season with the much injury plagued Gordon and Hairston and Taylor as our SG options. I'd keep Henderson and his contract over Gordon and his.
Again, Lance just seems so much better than anything else, and we don't even have to give up an asset for him. Makes no sense

TIL after looking at trade options to replace hendo, that he is the 13th highest scoring pure sg. wft
Back on topic, with Afflalo off the table, Wes matthews and Waiters seem like the best options.
I doubt Matthews is available though.

Wesley Matthew would be a fantastic pickup but I don't see how it could happen.

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2014-15
So with the Lack of News from us in FA and the the rumors we have been working on trades instead of signings, I have been bored and playing with the ESPN trade machine. Warning: Idk how good these are lol
I came up with a trade based off of earlier rumors around potential Kevin Love trades with Golden state and Charlotte facilitating the trade.
Trade: http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=lmleeug
In this scenario:
Charlotte Facilitate Golden States trade by taking on Lees contract (and our starting PF) and as an incentive we get our upgraded SG in Klay Thompson. Golden State Gets Love and Kevin Martin to replace Thompson. Minnesota gets Henderson+Zeller and neal (or another throw in player) plus 1st and 2nd round picks from both Charlotte and Golden State.
Wins:
Minnesota: -15
Golden State: +10
Charlotte: +7
Why it works: (my opinion)
Minnesota does this because they get something for Kevin Love instead of nothing in multiple picks from both teams to rebuild, a young PF with potential, a serviceable SG to start while they tank and expiring contracts.
Golden State does this because they get an younger improved allstar, and a Sg that can still stretch the Floor. both help them win right now without hurting depth.
Charlotte does this because we get our SG that can stretch the floor, our starting PF. Lee's contract expires when Jefferson's does (if he does not opt out), which does not hurt our future. Also the improvements maybe enough incentive to keep Jefferson from opting out.

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2014-15
Well I've been thinking our overpay offer to Hayward was not merely a longshot in the dark so to speak, but also a way to present ourselves to the Warriors as a team who will offer the max to Klay Thompson. Minny can't in my estimation trade Love for 1 year of Thompson. The Warriors can't move Thompson with teams knowing we will surely offer him the max in 2015. So we're forcing action on Thompson and we need to work out something with the Cavs with Waiters going to the Warriors and maybe David Lee going to the Cavs as a consolation prize for Minny being stuck on Wiggins for Love.

So, essentially we offered Gordon Hayward a max to get Dion Waiters?
I should have posted the Occam's razor comic here.
